The only reason I give this a 4 star and not a 5 star is due to missing screws that usually come with this product. They are solid and durable, (having used my friends pair when he was recommending these to me, and he has had them for 3 years now?), and they grip the trees with ease. They aren’t as fancy as some others but they’ll get the job done. I very much disliked the shin pads that these came with and changed those after 1 climb. If I did it again I’d have saved longer and bought another “B” brand’s aluminum tree gaffs. But, with Klein upgraded hyrdacool pads these work well enough and are far more comfortable. I plan to upgrade the foot straps too. Theses are durable but Velcro would be nicer and easier on the ankles.
