IRWINTools 1968337 Irwin VISE-GRIP Long Nose Plier, Lh, 8"

Good pliers with beefy comfortable handles.

I own a lot of different brands of pliers (cheap to expensive and lots in between). After seeing Project Farm's review of Needle Nose Pliers, I wanted to get a pair of Kobalts and Irwins. The Irwins are decidedly better and worth the extra $5. I almost bought (what appeared to be) these exact same Irwins in the Big Blue Box store from the shelf right next to the Kobalts. But then I noticed that the Irwins in the store were made in China and Project Farm said they were made in Taiwan. In my experience, there "can" be a big difference in quality of hand tools made in Taiwan vs. China. So, I balked and checked Amazon. Amazon claimed these Irwins were made in Taiwan, so I ordered from Amazon. Sure, enough, the pair that arrived in the mail WERE made in Taiwan, Just like Project Farm said. So, although the Irwins in the Big Box store appear to be the same pliers as these on Amazon, they are not. I'm extremely happy with these that I bought from Amazon. I have a lot of high end pliers and these appear to be second to none of them. This represents an outstanding value. Highly recommended. The fit and finish on these are a step above the Kobalts which also rated highly on Project Farm.

This is a great set of longnose pliers. Comfortable grip and seem to be well constructed. I bought these after considering some kline and knipex models. At the end of the day (and after watching many reviews of pliers online) I realized that theses were just as good as what is out there and at half the price. The only two points I would like to bring up are to make sure you are getting the Taiwan made model and not the Chinese made. Secondly, these are quite stout, with a thick, yet solid taper. This shape is perfect for what I was looking for, but if you want an extra thin needlenose look elsewhere.

I wanted 8 inch pliers with soft grippy handles and these are perfect. I also tried the WorkPro 8 inch pliers and they were good but not great. Highly recommend.

The jaws mate well and it feels secure in the hand. Grips are sturdy. I would recommend this tool.

People complaining there is a gap when closed need to understand this is by design... when working with higher than 12 ga wire the gap protects the wire from damage. Known top notch brands like knipex and klein and channel lock all have their version with gaps....

Really well made, sturdy plier. I try to avoid Chinese made anything, so Taiwan made sealed the deal. And politics aside, just about any US, German, Taiwanese, Japanese tool is also better made than Chinese.

Use these every day. They hold up great, grip great, feels great to hold. Can't go wrong with these.

Use these almost daily as a Hvac/fridge tech. THEY ARE SOLID. and perform great, with strong cutting edges, and strong jaws that don't bend or snap when you try to twist with them. Great recommendation from TY channel "ProjectFarm"

These pliers were worth the wait...To think they came from the USA and I received them weeks ahead of their scheduled delivery date, is a shining example of Amazons shipping practices, regarding your delivery... From the first time I used these pliers I didn't need to know anymore, simply a very worthy product....
