I chose to follow the ove instructions. I heated the inserts and then wore them as directed. I don't know that they fit to my foot. I've had moldable inserts made for me at my chiropractor's office - and these are nowhere near as comfortable. The arch isn't custom and it's high for my foot. It's so high, I have a hard time fitting these in shoes and boots. They make the boots so tight, that they're very uncomfortable when I'm not even standing up! I wouldn't buy them again. I wouldn't recommend them unless you have a high arch or need one... and wear REALLY spacious shoes/boots.

These might be ok for laced, athletic type shoes. I bought them for some added support in my black and brown Madewell loafers that are well broken in. The insoles are so thick that I can barely shove my foot in the shoe. You can see by my tattoo how much room it takes up in your shoe. I cannot imagine they would work in any shoe that does not have laces to loosen the fit. I’m a 9 and I ordered the 9-9.5 and for length the fit was right. Guess I’ll put these in my joggers.

I bought this as an economical substitute for the expensive heat moldable Sole insoles which I love. This is marketed as heat moldable, but it is NOT heat moldable. It is a decent enough insole if it fits you right, but don't purchase if adjusting is important to you. One other comment: this insole is much more rigid than the Sole ones. Depending on the nature of your foot problem that could be considered either an advantage or a disadvantage.

They make me feel more stable.
