Does this balance properly on a rounded arm rest?

Reasonably well w/the 2 adjustable tabs under the surface. (For my own piece of mind, I secured it additionally.)

How wide is the actual tray.?I need to know if it will lfit over a thickly padded arm.

12 & 3/4 inches. Will not stay on my couch arm or chair arm. Slides off.
