I used these inside a cape that I wanted to be able to sling part of it over my shoulder and have it hold there without having to fiddle with it. So sewing them inside the lining so that they were not visible allows me to just flip the front of the cape over to the back at the shoulder and the two magnets connect and hold it there without problem.

These are good, but I wish they were stronger. I sewed them to the shoulder area of a suit jacket to keep a masonic collar in place but they are not strong enough to attach through the fabric. Still a good product.

I used these magnets on a double wool coat I was making. I could not use the button hole feature on my sewing machine, because the fabric was too thick to go under the foot of the machine. The magnets were easy to sew on by hand. The best part is that they are VERY strong and work very well. I suggest this item to anyone who wants a magnet.

I actually bought these to create a 'closure' on some very lightweight, recycled material purses I have. A couple of things. The magnetic are SUPER strong. Good - and bad a little. They are VERY hard to sew on effectively. They are so strong they are pulling out the stitches I've painstakingly sewn on. Material is too flimsy to glue on - plus I'm pretty sure they'd pull off. So... I'm trying to figure out a way to attach them effectively and take advantage of the strong magnets! Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. This shirt is for my FIL but my son is trying it out. As you can see, it’s easy to close/ button and remove/ unbutton. Just be sure to thoroughly attach; in hindsight I should have used stronger thread.

I bought these magnets to put into a "tear away" costume for a quick change scene. They are the perfect strength! They hold the costume together strong enough so that it doesn't come open on stage, but yet they tear away easily when needed. I had purchased two other types of magnets, both encased in plastic that you just sew through the plastic to put them in your garment. They were ridiculously weak. These are nice and strong. But since fabrics come in many different weights and thicknesses, I'd suggest you make sure they have a return policy and then try them out on your project to see if they'll work for you. I will definitely be buying these again!

I bought and used these in the past to secure s man's winter coat. They were excellent! I purchased them again, October 31, 2025. They were half the strength, and useless. Do not buy!

I bought these for a pull-apart theater costume and they weren't strong enough to hold the shirt together. I hoped these would be a satisfactory replacement for velcro closures. They weren't. I would not suggest these for that, or any, purpose.
