Erroneous Technical Details. Lack of assembly guidance. But robust.
In the advertisement for this periscope, under Technical Details, where it says "Assembly required," the comment alongside is No -- i.e., "Assembly is not required." This is not true. And such assembly requires careful gluing of edges. Moreover, no assembly instructions, not even sketches of the steps to take and in what order, accompany the pieces. I had to access the original screen advert to carefully study the single photograph of the assembled telescope and figure out which piece went where. That said, the pieces, once separated from their two matrices, are of good quality. The mirrors, once rid of their protective film, are perfectly flat and well-reflecting, despite their being made of plastic (which, in itself, is a good idea, for health and safety reasons).Periscopes usually have their two mirrors set at 45 degrees. In this one, one mirror is not at that angle, so one has to learn how to use it to accommodate this divergence from the norm. However, I will hold on to mine, because it does answer the purpose for which I bought it: to enable me to read the small, green screen of my electricity meter without bending over (even though the amount displayed appears back to front).
