American Yard Products AYP 532144917 Idler Pulley

A good part. Fit perfectly without play. It appeared to be bare metal. So its not zink or nickel plated. My original was painted. So I painted this one with etching primer and a black automotive paint. Make sure its secured really well to the mandrel shaft. Tighten down the shaft nut really really tight. Use a torque wrench or long bar. I didn't tighten well enough when I installed a new mandrel and after a season of use the nut lossened just enough causing play and hammering. So over time the shaft, top bearing and both pulleys were destroyed.

I have seen this part listed all over the web as 144917 and 144197. Apparently something somewhere got messed up. There is no p/n 144197. After going through AMC Parts Store website, I ordered the correct part from them through Amazon checkout. This is the part that Amazon showed as shipping. This IS the part I wanted, which is the 144917. I'm sure more people are pulling their hair out trying to find this part. It would be nice for the future customers if you could fix the product description.Part works great though. Good solid piece.

This is 144917 pulley. NOT 144197.This number is transposed all over the web. I ordered by looks basicaly and it is the exact replacement for sears AYP 144917.
