Bought as a gift, birthday girls seemed to love it. Good for road trips.

This is an activity best for girls ages 8 and up, because it requires the use of color pencils/markers etc. It is a like a big portfolio that includes blank pages with model outlines for girls to draw dresses and accessorize with included stickers. My 10yr old loves it! Along with the blank pages, there are pages that have stickers in the forms of shoes, necklaces and more for girls to decorate their designs, also 4 pages of heavy paper that looks like fabric so girls can cut out dress shapes with stencils provided. An excellent gift for anyone that loves creating fashion styles, drawing, coloring and having fun with accessories. I became familiar with this brand when I was in Switzerland and what I like most about it is that while it is fashion oriented it is not trashy or oversexualized like some brands targeting girls nowadays seem to be. The line includes craft projects, handbags, school supplies and more, hopefully Amazon will carry more of their items because they are made with European quality standards and age appropriate for future fashionistas.

This is a cute way for kids to learn design, drawing, style and fashion.The book had a series of pages of bald barbie style women. These are blank templates for where your designs will flourish. In addition to those pages there are stencils for clothing and fancy pages that look like material. Basically you can use the stencils to cut out designs to make clothes for the girls on the pages. There are also pages of accessory stickers to jazz up you designs. Once you get the hang of it, you can then move to real fabric or objects to make custom fashion ideas.I like this product because it gives a manageable set of tools to spark creativity. And while it is aimed at a younger audience, I see no reason why it couldn't be used as a starting point for anyone who is learning to develop their fashion ideas.Now, what I don't like:1. There isn't much diversity or reality. Everything ago ut this book is about making clothes for a very petite girl. Not everyone may fit that mold and some people may feel alienated by this.2. Many of the outfit suggestions are not modest.Low cut tops, high cut dresses. Depending on your views this may not matter. Although for others this may be an issue.3. It offers limitless creativity so long as your ideas fit into this narrow perspective.Despite these three semi-harsh perspectives, for what it is, it is a very interesting and creative product. Is creating fashion is something that someone is into, this may really appeal to them.

If you have a girl that is into design and fashion then I think this might make the perfect gift choice. This sketchbook is full of pages of models, blank bodies with eyes, so that your child can design fashion, hair, and accessories. There are a couple pages of plastic stencils in the back to be used to help draw dresses and things onto the blank models. Or, your child can just as easily sketch her own designs.Also included are a couple of pages of accessories stickers (shoes, necklaces, earrings, etc.) which is fun, as well as a few pages of fabric prints (not fabric, paper pictures of fabric) that your child can use with the stencils or on their own to cut clothes out from. It definitely makes for a fun, creative outlet for the fashion-aware preteen.The book I received looks different from the one pictured, as I think I received a previous design for the purpose of reviewing. (I'd think the pictured book is the updated version). I like the pictured one more, the once I received had a flimsy handle at the top that was bent out of shape during shipping. It closes with a magnetic strap and can be carried with the handle. The one pictured shows a book with an elastic strap that has pockets for the stencils and stickers in the front. Please read through the product description before ordering to know which style you are likely to receive.That said, it's a cute and fun book for girls who are into fashion. Definitely provides hours of creativity for a child. I see the need to keep all the models the same shape and size for the purposes of allowing all stencils and stickers to work on all models. However, I would love to see a book like this include differing body shapes (some taller, some curvy, some shorter, some pear-shaped, etc.). This product falls right into the age category of girls who are becoming self-aware of their bodies and other's bodies. I think we owe it to them to represent acceptance toward women's bodies of all shapes and sizes. All of the models in this book are size 2s with slender, perfectly proportionate figures. Fortunately, that's not our reality and products like this could help--not harm--the self-image issues girls have these days by promoting diversity.All things considered, it makes for a fun gift.

Somehow my original review disappeared... so I will try again. The book you actually receive is much more adorable than the one shown. It has a handle for your little designer to carry around with a magnetic clip to keep it shut. There are 25 pages of models (lightly drawn with body shapes and faces) that hold 2-3 various poses. You also receive two stencil templates of outfits that you trace over double-sided "fabric" paper to create various outfits for your models. There are a two pages of a variety of sticker accessories to adhere to each page. All in all a very cute product, though I can see a young one blowing through it very quickly. I had uploaded photos and will see if I can find them again.
