Good replica of another maker
Editing with an updated comment regarding the seller:The product review is not a reflection on the seller: The seller had been ultra reliable and appears to care much about the products being sold and customer feedback. Although I did not reach out to the seller, I was contacted and the seller, without being asked, offered to either replace the knife with another product or refund the purchase.I did give a Five Star rating for the seller based on the transactions and this unexpected outreach to the customer. The product review is just that and it is still provided below.Product Review:Four stars for a very sharp blade and the colorful finish on the scales.Good replica of another maker.Good conversation piece.Details on the blade is amazing. The edge is sharp out of the box.Now the bad:It’s heavy.Although there is a detente ball on the lock bar, it’s too shallow and will not hold the blade in folded position. When held, blade down in folded state, the blade will swing open as a gravity knife would. That condition makes this folder a liability.Good design and sharp bevel of the blade are very desirable, but the lock bar and the scale material are a major let down.Another issue prevalent on the product is the machined edges such as the thumb hole, the spine of the blade and the swedge or the swage on the spine, are very very sharp and are not de-honed.Conclusion is that this knife maker (which is unknown) appears to supply a few models for Eafengrow, and is not the best of the company's imported products. I can only guess at the models being made by the same maker based on the characteristics provided on this feed.I understand it's not an expensive folder, however I expect a knife to perform a few basic things. If paper cutting, and doing it safely, is all I want from a cutting tool, then this folder is not so cheap anymore since there are a plenty of box cutters to choose from.

A Really Good Buy
Impressive knife, especially considering the low cost!Pluses: It's ruggedly made and feels strong and sturdy. It's a big knife. No blade play, no lock rock, no stripped screws (and the hardware is custom). It feels like you could hammer nails with this thing. It opens smoothly on bearings and in fact, among my various flippers this one may be the easiest to open. I mean, it flies open and locks with a satisfying snick. Also, it's just good looking. It doesn't look like your other knives, unless you happen to own the $1,100 Custom Knife Factory Decepticon, which this is mostly a copy of.Minuses: It's heavy, like a hammer, or like those old Buck knives your grandfather had. The detent is weak, which makes it easy to flip and so far it's good like this, but I worry it may eventually wear out. The finishing on the blade could be improved. It's not a big deal and most people won't notice, but there are some rough edges. The various facets, fullers, and bevels are very ambitions for a blade at this price point. Mine came sharp enough to cut things, but it's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. This particular steel, if we're to believe other Amazon reviews, needs to be kept a little oiled in moister climates to prevent corrosion. (This is not uncommon even in more expensive steels). All in all, I'd rate this knife an awesome score at this price, and I'm glad to add it to my collection. I'll even carry it sometimes... heavy or not. The design is beautiful and strange, the knife is sturdy and impressive looking, and bonus points for coming in blue and gold, the colors of my alma mater. If you're a knife person and don't have $1,110 for the CKF Decepticon, pick up this one, you'll be glad you did.

A much bigger and heavier knife than expected.
As with other Eafengrow knives, the quality of workmanship and finish are excellent. The knife is solid, everything works smoothly and fits tightly. The design is excellent and the 2 color, skeleton work frame is attractive. It is much larger and heavier than I expected from the pictures. It weighs around 9.35 ounces, a little over 1/2 pound. My pics show knife in my size large hand. The blade has no markings at all. The ad says it is D2 steel at 61 Hrc. Compared to other similarly hardened D2 knives I own, including other Eafengrow knives, this blade seems a little softer than 61 rockwell, and sharpens much easier than other D2. That is just my opinion when comparing to other knives I have sharpened. It does take a fantastic edge. This knife would be excellent as a hunting or camping knife. It is a little large to be comfortable as an EDC pocket knife. My wife intends to keep it in her car. If the knife performs as D2 should, this is an excellent and affordable purchase.

Amazing knife! Machining is excellent, action is smooth as glass with premium blade steel!

High weight, high value.
First off, this is a supposedly D2 blade steel, Chinese clone of the 1100+ custom knife factory decepticon. So, if it's not D2, for 30 dollars I don't care so much. The grinds on my knife were actually really good, with an even bevel unlike some knives I've paid alot more for. The lockup is about 40% and early, I prefer a later lockup but that's okay. No side to side play at all, Rock solid. The pivot is on a captive ball bearing phosphor bronze washer system, which also works excellently. The knife arrived with minor scratches on the blade and the handle, not many and not large enough that I care for 30 dollars anyway. So ultimately though this is a heavy knife with some finish blemishes it's still compelling and an amazing value for what it is
