Love this book---I bought it after taking a yoga class ...
Love this book---I bought it after taking a yoga class and the instructor read from one of the passages---it was funny and thoughtful at the same time, and seemed to perfectly capture the essence of yoga in our modern lives. Each chapter offers a different look at yoga in a different voice---I was literally laughing out loud at parts (the whole "Broga" essay by Alan Shaw and "The, Um, Sexy Yoga Essay" by Claire Dederer). An absolute must read for yoga people and non-yogis alike. Great book you can pick up and enjoy, reading a chapter at a time or skipping around---I've been doing yoga for about a year and a half and I love how this book approaches yoga from a "real-world" perspective, so anyone can appreciate it. I'm buying gifts for my yoga friends this Christmas!

OK
As I have said before, anything that motivates and inspires people to get on the mat is good. For me, though, this book was not as interesting or penetrating as I had hoped it would be.Try Rolf Gates' book MEDITATIONS FROM THE MAT for something meatier, but still down to earth.

A Must Read!
This book from the beginning engages the reader with heartwarming stories that will move you....perhaps too, in the direction of Yoga. These individual experiences in life on and off the yoga mat(from well known authors) are written in separate chapters allowing the reader to put their book down and easily pick up to start another 'journey'...a new chapter. Each author's story with Yoga being a part of their life, is inspirational, moving and thought provoking. The book is edited by Melissa Carroll.....and I would say, this is a "Must Read" on my list. Kudos!

I loved this book.
I go back and forth with my yoga practice and this book, with the various perspectives was really helpful. I strength train with a trainer 3 times a week, do HIIT rides on my Peloton 4 times a week but can’t seem to regularly practice yoga. What’s up with that? These writers gave me much to think about AND I actually did a session today. Fingers crossed I continue. Somehow I think I will…

Lovely and inspirational
I discovered yoga a few years ago and loved all of the benefits associated with it.I also discovered a love for "yoga stories" which I use to inspire and motivate me.Going OM certainly fit the bill. I loved the many different point of views that are brought to this book, by the diverse people who contributed to this anthology. Its always amazing to me how one subject matter (yoga) can be seen in so many different ways, by people who share something or nothing other than yoga.I also loved the fact that this book is not about who can do it the best or the grandest, but rather about who does it, why and the benefits (all of them) that they find through their own practices.Loved, loved this book.

A good read!
This book was often entertaining and often sad. I greatly enjoyed reading the short stories presented by each author. Although each story is related to yoga in some way, the overall theme of the book focuses on life lessons. It is a great read!

Most excellent~
Great book! I have been looking for something like this for some time so that I can relate to what I am feeling when I get deep into my yogaverse. As a car accident survivor I took up yoga to help with my functional body movement. Now I'm a life long practitioner. I love it!
