Works like a charm!
I previously tried a different humane trap that was too short, pinching the mouse’s tail shut in the trap door until I found him and opened the door to release his tail (ouch!), so I decided to give the Mouse Mansion a try and it worked beautifully! The trap is super easy to set, easy to open to release the live mouse and easy to clean. Plenty of space for long tails too. I did worry about air flow because there are not air holes along the tube portion, but the end of the trap has an open slotted door that looks like a tiny jail door so air can get in, I just didn't know how hot in would get in there if mousie was left in there overnight or daytime during a work shift. Luckily, I didn't have to worry long because I caught him two hours after I set the trap. This trap is awesome!

Works better then expected - at least a dozen caught and released
We had signs of mice in our garage and after looking at several similar traps I opted for this one as seem like the best design to catch a mouse without harming it. That’s exactly what it’s done. One and often both traps were catching nightly till we finally found their access point. I like that the trap door is not sprung with a massive spring that could cause harm to the mice or pets and that it is still easily tripped and is secure. The trap is also long enough that their tails won’t get caught (mice not rats). My only complaint is the molding process for the parts leaves the clips on the bait loading end too tight requiring a bit of extra effort to open the first time. Doesn’t impact the overall trapping functionality just more tricky to open then it should be.

Highly effective, but they do wear down if you leave the mouse in too long.
I've had these traps for several years now and they are highly effective and easy to use, clean and monitor. The only complaint I might have is that over time, I've noticed that the top of the trap's door has been getting chewed by the mice if they get left in there too long and so there is starting to be a gap that will eventually be wide enough for the mice to escape through. But overall, I really like these traps.

Effective when functional
First thing's first: I have caught 10 live mice with these traps. The triggers are far enough from the doors that there have been no apparent injuries to the trapped mice. There is a removable metal plate reinforcing the plastic slatted cap at the back of the trap, which I assume is to prevent the mice from chewing through; so far that has been good.I have a few issues with the traps, which is why I cannot give them more stars.1. They are inconvenient, if not difficult to clean. The product page says they're easy to disassemble for cleaning, but I found that to be completely untrue. I had a really hard time both disassembling the one trap I tried taking apart and reassembling it after it was clean and dry. The plastic broke or cracked in a few places during the process, though the trap seems to still be functional. However, I have not tried again to take that or any of the others apart for cleaning. Which means I had to purchase a long bottle brush in order to scrub the interior of the traps. Even then, mouse poop can fall below the trigger floor and is nearly impossible to remove at that point. I do not recommend using peanut butter, like the brochure shows, unless you want a huge mess to deal with. I find dried honey granola, small dry cat food (kibble), and dried cherry bits work well.2. Of the 4 traps I purchased, I cannot remove the bait end from one of them. This makes it rather more difficult both to use and to clean (and they are already difficult to clean). I must use bait that I can either slip through the slats or carefully place into the trap using chopsticks. The trap ultimately still works, but it's frustrating and more time-consuming.3. Of the 4 traps I purchased, two arrived broken and are completely non-functional. One one trap, the plastic dowel on one side of the trap door is broken off. The piece was inside of the trap, so perhaps it broke off during transport; I can only speculate. In any case, the door does not close when the mouse steps on the trigger floor. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after leaving the trap out (and baited) nearly two days. I was surprised that it hadn't caught anything yet because I could *hear* that there were still mice, so I inspected the trap more closely... and found all of the bait gone and a smattering of mouse excretion in the trap. :-( I'm not sure why the second trap isn't working, but it also has been bait-raided several times without the door closing. When I press the bar on the outside of the trap, the door does close, so I'm mystified. In summary, 3 of the 4 traps I purchased are defective, and 2 do not work at all. The working traps are effective but very difficult to clean, and prone to breakage if one attempts to disassemble them for cleaning purposes. Perhaps if they came with instructions for exactly how to take them apart and reassemble, that would help? I kind of doubt it.Also, for anyone who is new to live traps: when possible, liberate the trapped mouse as quickly as possible (though you should drive it to a park or other wooded area a fair distance from your home/trapping location, or else the mice will find their way back). The longer they're in the trap, the more they will soil it, and that requires more effort to clean. Naturally, if you put more bait in the trap and the mouse is in there for a while, it will eat more and leave more droppings and urine behind.
