A kitchen essential
I’ve gone through my fair share of blenders, but the Oster BPCT02-BA0-000 has truly impressed me. Whether I’m making smoothies, soups, or even crushing ice for cocktails, this blender handles it all with ease. It’s built like a tank, thanks to its stainless steel base and durable glass jar, and it doesn’t feel flimsy like some of the plastic models I’ve used in the past. What I Love Powerful Motor & Ice-Crushing Blades The 600-watt motor is strong enough to blend just about anything. I’ve thrown in frozen fruit, ice cubes, and even nuts, and it blends smoothly without struggling. The stainless steel “Ice Crusher” blade is a standout feature—I’ve made frozen drinks in seconds without leaving behind chunky bits of ice. Durable Glass Jar One of the reasons I chose this model over others is the 5-cup glass jar. Unlike plastic jars that can stain or absorb odors, this one stays crystal clear and is super easy to clean. Plus, it just feels sturdier and more premium. Classic, Timeless Design I love the retro look of this blender. The brushed stainless steel base gives it a sleek, professional feel, and it looks great sitting on my kitchen counter. Simple & Easy to Use Some blenders come with too many complicated settings, but this one keeps it simple with just two speeds. It might not have a dozen presets, but honestly, I’ve never needed more than high and low for everyday blending. Affordable & Reliable For the price, I couldn’t ask for a better blender. It does exactly what I need without unnecessary frills, and it feels like it’s built to last. Oster is a brand I trust, and this blender lives up to their reputation for quality. If you’re looking for a strong, reliable, and no-fuss blender, the Oster is a fantastic choice. It blends like a champ, handles ice with ease, and has a classic, durable design that feels like it will last for years. I use it almost daily, and it’s never let me down.

Great blender!!!
Practical and easy to clean. I love it because the jug is made of glass, it has good power, and it's very efficient.

LOUD, but super efficient
Oster blenders have long been my favorite for smoothie making. They grab the frozen fruit and pull it down into the blades, efficiently blending it quickly. (Unlike other brands that just bounce the fruit around, gradually chipping away at it.) I went without an Oster for years, not wanting to spend 3X the cost of the other popular brands. . It’s worth it, but wow, is it LOUD. Other reviewers say the same. A high pitched screaming loud. I don’t remember this from past Osters. Anyway, I now keep a pair of hearing protectors handy when making smoothies.

I love the glass jar
It's a good blender but only having two speeds is kind of a bummer. It also has a burning smell sometimes while in use😔

Excellent Blender
I've had this blender for two years now, and I am very happy with the purchase. I waited 6 years looking for the perfect blender before I purchased this one. My prior department store blenders had all shirked at the effort of blending ice on a regular basis, and eventually turned into glorified ice crushers, but this little blender has been a faithful load beast and blends everything without complaint. It feels substantial and of good quality. The simple toggle switch is all that is necessary for blending everything from soups to smoothies. A mason jar fits well in place of the glass carafe, so I often use the blender to blend spices. It is a loud blender, but it is easy to clean, is powerful and works well, and is a stylish addition to my kitchen. In my opinion, it is an excellent blender, and when I wear mine out, I won't hesitate to purchase another. October 2014: Four years and this blender is still going strong. My blade was getting dull, so I ordered another one for $7 from Amazon. The blender is now like new. It's still loud, so I keep a pair of earplugs nearby. Still a great blender for making my daily green smoothie.

Great blender, just could be bigger
I bought this to replace my Ninja blender which cracked after a little more than one year. The Oster has no fancy settings but I have only ever used max speed on blenders, so I didn't miss that. It is very loud but so was the Ninja. Results are very similar, maybe it takes a little longer bit everything ends up perfectly smooth. There are only two downsides compared to the Ninja: - the jar is significantly smaller (6 cups vs 9 I believe). Larger glass blenders sell to be rare though! - it struggles when you add mostly solids and little liquid. The Ninja did a much better job with it's blades sitting higher. The Oster needs you to push the fruits or veggies down until some of it is liquefied, afterwards it does a good job by itself. Overall very happy with this purchase 2 months in. Will update the review if necessary.

Big Mistake.
I just got my blender from Amazon. Shipping and packaging were fine. The glass jar is okay, except that the base is thin plastic- they used to be metal. The base of the blender itself also has a plastic collar, and honestly, I can't tell if the "stainless steel" is real or not. Certainly seems cheap. When you turn the unit upside-down, the housing is thin plastic. The worst surprise is when you turn it on. Even empty, the motor sounds terrible. It's really loud and it sounds as though it's trying to blend ball bearings. Oster used to make terrific blenders here in the states. The one that this one is modeled after is really wonderful and will last fifty years; I'd be surprised if the new ones last six months. I'm packing the one I just bought back in its box and returning it. Then I'll be on the look out for an old Oster. It's truly disappointing that many of the great companies have sold out and make junk now. This grumpy old man has had it. Here's an update. I was so disappointed with this blender that I found an old Osterizer on Ebay for 30 bucks. It was in mint condition. It's so much better made that it's hard to believe they're the same company. Metal base on the glass, and the blender itself is heavy and solid, the stainless steel is actual, honest-to-god steel, even the collar- which is plastic on the new "retro" version. The best surprise is when you turn it on. It it so much better, quieter, and well-made that I cannot believe it. honestly, the newer "retro" one requires ear protection. and it sounds as though it wouldn't last out the week. Oster, you should be ashamed! Do yourself a favor, find an old one at a garage sale, Craigslist or Ebay. It'll be a much, much better unit.

Makes a Good Smoothie
This is a reasonably-priced blender with a glass jar that is capable of making a decent smoothie.
