OK, so after reading a lot of reviews I was nervous about this kettle... although the look fits my kitchen wonderfully. So took the chance.I encounter 1 issue, and that is that the lid is tricky to replace... but once you've worked out the knack its all good... there is a piece of metal that kind of gets in the way of the lid fitting properly, but if you place the lid back at an angle so it pushes the metal out of the way.. it fits back in perfectly... otherwise this is a nice kettle, ive had no problems with the black coming off as some said, and it appears watertight and boils well.

I've bought two kettles in the last six months before this one - both rapidly malfunctioned and I had to send them back (who's got the time!). I was going to leave it a year before writing a review but it's a great kettle! No limescale gathering, no leaking, feels solid, pours brilliantly, looks pretty and unlike any of the others it retains heat long after you've boiled it, even my 22yr old son commented on it. The long-established brands always seem to come through for the consumer - at least so far so good - thank you Salter.

The kettle looks nice, the rose gold and Matt black attracted me for my new kitchen but the Matt black was hard to keep looking good and looks tired already. The lid kept falling off onto my hand when I poured causing steam to burn my hand, managed to combat this issue by squishing the rim of the lid so it fit a bit more snugly. The kettle is by no means overused (mostly weekend tea and the occasional evening as we use our coffee machine mostly) so I am really bothered that this failed so quickly. The kettle now doesn’t even stay boiling. It will start and then switch off without boiling and gives off a burning smell. This isn’t a one off as my mum bought one same time as me and has the same issues with it not boiling fully.

Mine sadly didn’t work properly so my dad got me a new one elsewhere, however the customer service I received was incredible. Would buy from them again.

This is my second purchase of this kettle.It's fast. It doesn't have any plastic that touches the water.It's easy to clean.I broke the first one, it was still working after 1 year.

Nice looking kettle but it only lasted 12 months and stopped working,Bought this because Salter could always be relied upon to last but unfortunately the quality an longevity has dropped, won’t be buying anymore salter product in the future.Very disappointed..

Easy grip, easy fill,, quiet, soft touch switch, great look, good quality and no tang to the flavour of my brews - the best kettle I’ve ever had. I live in a hard water area so remove water marks once a week with viakal and kitchen roll the wipe off to keep it looking good - live it
