First let me start with I am a die hard Three Stooges fan so I did only go into this to see their early work. They were not in it enough for me lol but I thought I would still enjoy this movie. I was wrong. First there is nothing really to this movie aside from the love triangle (if you can even call it that). The main character has no struggle except for a brief stalking scene and to have to chose between the hot director who gives her the leading role or the rich guy who is buying her everything. Fred Astair was not utilized enough and the dance routines were a joke considering she was the only one good enough to be able to do them. All in all I felt this movie was pretty much a let down.

Chemistry between Joan Crawford and Clark Gable was perfect. Surprised Joan could dance and keep up with Fred Astaire in his 1st movie. Surprise casting of the 3 Stooges as stage hands.

I was so impressed with this great production on DVD. Young, beautiful Joan Crawford is so talented ~ I had no idea. She is vivacious, sexy, dances, sings, dives and swims ~ she absolutely sparkles. Clark Gable is young, handsome, and shows off his athletic body in the gym. Fred Astaire is in his debut in this film where Joan and him dance together. There is also the Three Stooges, as well. It has great fun dialogue, is very technically modern for its time, extremely entertaining, fast paced, and an absolute joy to watch this CLASSIC film ~ WHAT A TREAT!! THEY SURE DON'T MAKE MOVIES LIKE THIS ANYMORE. YOU WILL LOVE IT AS I DO AND PLAY IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!!

I’m trying to watch every Clark Gable movie I can. This is a good movie! Clark Gable has a lot of chemistry with Joan Crawford and they just don’t make movies like this anymore, unfortunately! Plus seeing the Three Stooges and Fred Astaire is a major plus!

Crawford is energetic and enthusiastic in this role. It comes with bonus features, mainly shorts by the three stooges, who make an early appearance in this picture. However, the most amazing dancer by far was Fred Astaire. Subtitled. "Pre-code" which means it was one of the more scandalous movies of its time. Too bad it was overshadowed by later musicals.

Great movie! Great stars! Something the whole family can watch and enjoy.

I thought this movie was alright. I enjoyed it, but it was no where near as good as I had heard it to be. Joan Crawford and Clark Gable have good chemistry, and the costumes by Adrian are stunning. The story is quite good, Although It moves too fast. The ending is a little predictable also.Not the best, nor the worst film for Crawford and Gable.

Worth seeing for Crawford when she was the next big thing and an unusually cheeky performance by Grable. Crawford was a hoofer on Broadway but her steps here are severely limited. Good fun for thirties freaks.

This 1933 film wears well. Crawford and Gable are in top form.Fred Astaire makes his film debut as himself.Highly enjoyable, a pleasant surprise.
