Haven't seen this movie since it came out. Glad Amazon added it to the watch list. Fun movie that is enjoyable to watch.

Great movie, one of my favourites!

You don't have to be over 50 to enjoy this comedy but appreciating all the classic 50's/60's decor and dress styles definitely compliments this romp into the past work. Christopher Walken takes a big step back from his more usual roles of bad boy to the eccentric scientist who builds a fallout shelter for the safety of his family. One night, while he and his pregnant wife, Helen (Sissy Spacek), are entertaining guests, a family friend comes to inform him that John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev are getting into a debate. The family turns on their television, and watch in horror. They ask their guests to leave. Meanwhile, a pilot is having problems with his plane; he is ordered to eject, believing his jet will crash into the Pacific Ocean. Just as the Webbers descend into the shelter, the plane veers off and crashes into the Webber home, leaving their friends and family to believe the family has died.Sissy Spacek plays her low-key comedy role to perfection, being the consequential wife and mother of the 50's era. We see her entering the fallout shelter, under fear of a nuclear attack, pregnant, complete with pot roast and oven mitts. Walken hits the locking mechanism and thus starts a 35 year commitment underground. The movie then enters the period of raising son, 'Adam', played by Brendan Fraser. Thirty-five years elapse and Dad now feels it's safe to go above-ground. Meanwhile the landscape around his abandoned home had changed drastically. Dad goes to scope it out but later, after recounting the horror of what 'mutants' the people are who are now populating the planet promptly has a heart attack. While recovering he instructs son Adam to go up and check things out. Adam's Innocence is part of the comedy in this film as he meets up with an attractive women coincidentally named Eve.There are a few swear words in this comedy, which were entirely unnecessary. Sexual content was low, more suggestive than actually visual. This is a fun movie but, due to some foul language probably not suitable for a younger audience. It is, though, a blast from the past and there are some very funny moments. I give it a four star rating.

The cast does a great job and Frasier really shines as a 50's person suddenly confronted with the modern world, If you haven't seen it yet you should. It'll open your eyes to the ethics of the fifties and show that true chivalry never goes out of style.

Al ser Blu-ray tenía miedo de que se dañara pero llegó en buenas condiciones, si la pones en español hay escenas que se pondrán en inglés automáticamente, supongo que eran las escenas extras que no se doblaron, tiene buena calidad de imagen y de sonido.

Great feel good film, upgraded from DVD to Blu-ray so I could pass on the original and picture quality is better and 5.1 soundtrack. Blu ray appears to be region free as plays fine on standard UK player.

La verdad es una versión extendida con doblaje de aquí de españa el bueno y parte subtítulo ya q es versión extendida pero por precio la recomiendo muy buena compra
