Works great and the magnets are plenty strong. I even used the existing screws since it lined up perfectly. I tried the local Lowe's and Home Depot for this item with no luck.Just make sure you measure your old one before you order this one. It is a little pricey IMHO, but I'm just happy that the price includes s&h and that it fits and works.

This was an impossible part to find. This was a perfect fit and made my shower door functional again. My old one failed because the chrome chipped and then it corroded. My solution was to get some clear silicone caulk and put it on the new magnets. The thin even layer of silicone caulking makes the closing a bit softer (the magnet is a bit weaker as a result, but not a problem) so far, this replacement has held up like new because it has not been exposed to moisture and it has not chipped. The little but of clear silicone caulk seems to have made a huge difference.

The original magnetic door latch was badly rusted and the magnet broken, so our shower door could not be closed shut. An exact fit item was hard to find - i looked around in Home Depot & Lowes with no luck. I even tried a flexible magnet which did not work. The folks who had remodeled the bathroom were no help in locating a replacement magnet assembly. Finally i located this item on Amazon but the high price (for such a small, simple item) and also very high S&H cost turned me off. Finally with no choice i ordered the item and it arrived within 2 days (even though it said 10 day shipping). This was a nice surprise and even more so the unit fir the slot exactly and was relatively easy to install. The quality of the product looks very good and it is better than the original. Hopefully this unit will not rust and last for a long time. It deserves a 5 star rating but i knocked it down 1 star due to the high price of the item and also very high S&H charges, Given the premium pricing i hope the manufacturer will stand behind the product and give a lifetime replacement warranty.

This is one of those parts that I was excited to actually find. I didn't think I would ever find a replacement magnet for the shower door. But, it fits perfectly. Be careful with your measurements when comparing it to the product. Mine arrived in a yellow envelope - no damage. The plating looks to be smooth and high quality. One thing to note, it installed with the screw heads on the INSIDE of the shower. I see other reviews of folks talking about how the screw head bumps against the door. You have it backward. The magnets should face the door with the screw heads inside the shower. Things threaded just fine. Less than a minute for the swap and we are good as new!

This seems a little pricey but when you consider a new shower after your magnets rust and quit working, it's not. My husband put the replacement magnets and plate on the other day and it's working great. Our old magnets were evidently glued on and were exposed and rusted and fell apart. Nothing we got such as flexible magnet strips worked. We didn't have screws through the framework originally so my husband drilled some holes and went in through the front but the screw heads kept the door from completely shutting so he screwed the screws from the inside of the shower to avoid that. It seems to work fine! We really like the idea of the magnets being on their own metal plate. They still are exposed but as someone else said, they are coated.

Works well and product was exactly as described. Easy to install. Price seems high for such a simple device.

The existing magnet was rusted and broken and the shower door no longer held tight. After looking at different hardware stores and not finding a replacement part lo and behold amazon comes through! it was a little pricey but much less expensive than a complete shower door ensemble. Easy to install, perfect fit, shower door secured!!

We purchased this because the magnet/screws that came with the original door rusted out (we have softened water...I suspect the salt from the softener isn't doing it any favors). This was easy to install. I was hoping it would be proof against the water, but alas, it is also beginning to rust.It's inexpensive enough that I will order this again, but I'll probably have to put a coating over it to keep it from rusting again. It's possible that a light coating of clear silicon caulk will do the trick.
