These sit flat.
Had to file down some plastic on my tandem kayaks as the original ones were fitted beter by having a ridge on the kayak and compensation on the handles.

Poor Quality
Bought these for Tarpon and Malibu replacements. The fit poorly and the paddle bungee was short so wouldn't reach the hook and didn't have a pull tab. Bungee broke without much pressure. I returned these defective ones for "Marine Boat Canoe Pair" which were excellent in every way.

Fits perfect
Bought for my 10' emotion angler kayak replaced all 4 handles bolts were differnt than my thread size but just reused my bolts..handles are nice and look like they are stock handles
