The reader is not asked to trudge through the research, simply to receive its benefits. It is rare to see the breadth of knowledge covering foods, supplements, home/personal care products, excercise and more, gathered in one place and delivered in such a direct way. Plus it's well written and the photos are beautiful! Individuals beginning the journey of learning how to take care of themselves will value it as an inspiring, enjoyable and masterful introductory book - the 101 course for healthy living; while connoisseurs in healthy living will value it for having collected so many normally disparate but related subjects in one place, providing reminders for watchfulness and starting points for further improvements. I'm going to keep this one close and give it / recommend it for the people I care about.

The 101 course for healthy living

Health Rules for Real People
I ordered this after reading a recommendation online and have read about 2/3 of the way through it. A lot of it is common sense, but it is nice to have an "expert" tell you that you are doing things right. So often the experts recommend health solutions that seem impossible to comply with. These suggestions seem easier to accomplish. Also I like the fact that each suggestion takes up less than a page and has an accompanying photo on the page across from it--makes for a fast and easy read.

If you read only one book about health and nutrition, read this. Simple, practical, and concise.
Reading Dr. Lipman’s previous book Revive years ago dramatically changed how I thought about health, nutrition, movement, aging, and taking care of my body. This book boiled a lot of that research and thinking down into clear, simple guidelines. And with beautiful photographs. I find myself revisiting it often when my well-being goes off kilter and bad habits start seeping back in (especially in COVID times). It is not normal to feel achy, tired, foggy and bloated. Don’t simply accept it as aging. Our modern world often makes it difficult to do what’s natural and right for our bodies. It’s harder to be in tune with what your body needs. We weren’t meant to sit inside looking at screens all day. We weren’t meant to drive everywhere. We weren’t meant to eat food that comes in cardboard boxes. Or eat animals at such scale who in turn are sick because of our agricultural malpractices. Good news - this book makes course correcting easy.

Really Wanted To Like This, But...
This is a very knowledgeable author (I have one of his earlier books, plus this seems to be "my" area so I'm familiar with Dr. Lipman) but I sure am tired of the Paleo Diet nonsense. Look it up; its benefits have been much over-rated. This may sound a little simplistic but really, humans only became civilized when we settled down and ate grains. WHOLE grains --- very unfortunately confused with heavily-process crap so ubiquitous in our stores --- are a necessary and valuable part of a healthy diet. If you don't trust wheat eat farro or short grain brown rice or quinoa; there are many others. Additionally the way one eats has quite an impact on one's mood and interaction with those around him or her. So go ahead and eat Paleo in the early part of your day, but you'll find you sleep better, feel more relaxed and interact more pleasantly with the other human beings around you if you dial back the protein and ramp up the whole grains (and legumes and maybe nuts/seeds) toward the later half of your day. I wanted to like this book; it has many good points and I admire the authors' skill in distilling complex topics down to essentially written word sound bites. I wanted to buy a large number of copies and give it to friends and relatives (so they would no longer need to listen to ME!). But unfortunately it has become tainted for me, with not one but at least three items/pages, where grain-bashing has occurred.

A Great Health Book For Daily Inspiration!
This is a really great book for inspiration regarding healthy life habits. It's a very easy, simple read. The photographs are well done and reading a few pages a day can help keep you "on track" to healthy living. I find 99% of the information useful and helpful for me. I recommend this book to those who know all the health rules they need to feel great (or to feel better) but who need ongoing inspiration to practice them every day. Thank you, Dr. Lipman and Danielle Claro.

Great format...very inspiring book
This is my new favorite book...with short entries on many topics, I find it immensely helpful and inspiring. It's easy to overwhelm yourself with 'to-do's for achieving better health and wellness, and I like how Dr. Lipman keeps things short and simple. I've added colored tabs throughout the book to highlight the ideas I want to start with. Look forward to making some positive changes in my life! Thank you for keeping it simple!

waouh. can I put minus 5 stars. minus Z.
I was shocked. I wasted my money. I am really not happy. Have more informations on yahoo beauty and yahoo health with prettier pictures. Four lines on one page then one picture on another page. Shocking. I have bought hundreds of books on Amazon and have never left a comment. You know what, just buy the book from Jessica Alba and read the FREE advices on GOOP. Have 10 times more informations than on that book. Dr. Lippmann is disappointing me. Does he need money. Did he just put his name on his book. I did not even want to buy that book wanted to press sample and I clicked on buy. Then thought what the hell, have already books from him and from Dr. Junger. Good books so what the heck , no need to ask money back. Mistake big mistake. Never read a book so expansive with next to no informations. Book for someone who likes to read post it notes , does not have a clue about anything health related and is on a mc Donald's and dunkin donut diet. They might learn something. I waited a few more weeks reread the books. I still feel same. All the 5 stars review are phony. Completely phony. The maximum could have been 2 stars for the pictures. For me all those who gave 5 stars are family friends clients of the authors.
