Amazon screwed up my order. The wire looks decent for my sound system. It's an upgrade from the discount store copper wire. I got a 14 gauge ordered 12, also I got wire insulated in white plastic as the pictures. I'll plug it in this afternoon to my Yamaha rx 663 if it doesn't work I'll send I back.Edit: Works perfect. big enough for sound small enough gauge.

Stiffest speaker wire I've ever used.
I've never encountered wire this stiff before. With the exception of in-wall rated cable speaker cable is always flexible & pliable. Working with this cable is akin to running 12 gauge Romex. I'm going to throw this out and redo my speaker cables using cable from a different manufacturer.
