You Need These for Your Pies!
Nice weight to these little balls. Works terrific in keeping the crust from bubbling up on the bottom. Comes in a case you can reuse that snaps shut. Good quality.

They are ideal!
I wish that I had had these years ago!!For decades, I used a Ziploc bag of red beans. Of course, I took them out of the Ziploc to put them in the pie shell! For bsking-lol.The beans dug into the raw pastry and the pastry partially baked around the bottom layer of beans which was not ideal. It left a seriously pocket marked baked crust.Worst though, was the day that I wanted to cook some beans, and I forgot and used the beans that had been used for about 2 million years as pie weights.I couldn’t figure out why the beans remained very hard after I boiled them. So I boil them for 12 hours. And they were still hard. I continued to cook them stubbornly for about two days until I got the point that no matter what I did, they would never rehydrate!I threw them out, and then maybe a year later realised what I had done LOL. Oh yeah. Those had been my pie shell weight beans. The round pie weights do not embed in a baking pie shell. And the instructions tell how to keep that from happening. Yay!

Great pie weights at a great price
I ordered these after they got a first place review on America's test kitchen. They were matched up against a variety of different weights and designs and these were what they recommended out of the entire line up. I like this show for its review and great recipes and these weights don't dissapoint. They work great. It took a while to receive them as the seller may have been out of stock. But I patiently waited and they arrived and at good discount over the same weights sold by some others at a higher price. I may order two more sets for larger pies. ATK recommends four cups of weights for a large pie tin! Which is about four boxes or so of these I believe. I started with two and that seems to work well for my quiches that require blind baking. These pans are shallower so only two boxes is sufficient.

Weights are fine. Storage case didn't survive shipping.
The weights seem to be fine, but the plastic box they're to be stored in didn't survive shipping. I'm not going to bother with a return. I'll use a mason jar for storage. I prefer glass for storage of things that are just sitting out on the counter anyway. Be careful if you have kids. These pie weights really do look like candy. Actual jawbreakers.

Easy to use, works well
These are a must-have for par-baking pie crusts. I initially bought one container but now use two for more coverage and weight which helps minimize shrinkage. Very easy to use again and again!

WASH THEM SEVERAL TIMES FIRST!!
These are great and have good weight for your pie crust bottom but you MUST WASH THEM a couple of times when you get them (including the case) as the dust from manufacturing will get all over your crusts despite how careful you are with placing them on a liner. Other than that, good product.

Fine pie weights; plastic box is a throwaway
Bought the 1.5 pound version of the pie weights because it had what appeared to be a handy storage container. However, the thin brittle plastic shattered during shipping. (I bought two, both boxes were badly broken and unusable, pie weights scattered everywhere in the Amazon box!) So buy the pie weights, but you'll need your own storage solution.
