Our Granny

I LOVE this little book. I give it as a present to every new grandma I know and to babies at every baby shower I attend. A delightful way to introduce young children to the joys of diversity.

This book was "okay"... I know it states that it has a variety of different Grannies described throughout, but one page surprised me. There is a page about grannies that have had 2, or even 6 husbands, and grandpas that have died. I know those are real life situations, but didn't feel like that was an appropriate way to bring up or explain those topics to my 5,3,and 2 year old children. It just seemed out of place in the book. I am contemplating tearing that page out.

Saw this book at a friends place and immediatly thought it would be a great little story book for the grandchildren. Ordered it and was told it would a few weeks before it would arrive and was presently surprised when it arrived a lot earlier than expected. Wouldn't hesitate to order more books. The packaging was great, probably abit of an overkill, but great all the same.

Every Granny needs this book...I keep it at my house to read to grand baby when she visits.

An absolute delight! If you don't have a Gramma, Aunt, Sister or Mother that was used as a model for this book, maybe the author used YOU!Purchase for any grandkid, or other child, yourself, or whoever enjoys life and lives it to the hilt! The swim suit addition is indeed the best---or the activist inclusion, or the exercise class----you decide.

Did not know that the Grandpa had died in this book. Not applicable for my grandkids.

Love this book. Gives a modern and diverse view of grandmothers. Fun illustrations.
