Tips 1. AT-601B must be powered for function. It can be powered via USB cable by connecting to any USB-port supporting 5V output. A USB AC/DC power adapter is included in package. 2. Re-scan the channels after each switching of the Smart pass Amplifier. 3. Scan channels monthly to find all available channels including newly added or changed. 4. Do not place or hide the Smart pass Amplifier in/behind any metallic objects. 5. Keep the antenna away from any high power consumption devices to avoid interference. Cleaned up weaker signals
This little helper let us avoid buying another antenna! We're about 61 miles from the towers for our area, and already had a long range ClearStream 4 Antenna, mast mounted on the roof. Since the FCC auctioned off channels for LTE use, lots of stations switched frequencies for their TV signals. This filter cancels out interference from signals not in the current range, and the amplifier cleaned up our reception on the channels that were barely coming in. Great bang for the buck.

Doesn't seem to improve signal to noise ratio, no new channels pulled in
I'm using the amplifier with a dipole antenna connected to a Hauppauge quad tuner (PCI express). On one particular channel without the amplifier, the SNR (signal to noise ratio) was 19 dB (it varied from 18 to 20). With the amplifier, the SNR was 20 dB (varying from 19 to 21). For an amplifier with a claimed 16 dB of gain and a noise figure of 2 dB, I would expect several dB of SNR improvement. The channels that were weak/flaky before I added the amplifier are still weak/flaky. I'm using the included power adapter, so I don't expect that noisy power reduced the effectiveness. It's likely that I'll just need a larger (or higher above the ground) antenna to pull in more signal.

antenna booster: works as advertised, 98 - 100 channels, from 3 directions. FM too.
this is a review for the antenna booster only. Another reviewer posted that a local channel, channel 26.1 ( in san francisco ) started coming in. I have 2 TVs running off an attic antenna, the second TV wouldn't get 26.1 ( that channel moved to Fremont's Mount Allison). Hence this booster. To my surprise, upon rescanning, I got channel 16.1 - 16.12 -- ( all in vietnamese ). My location is such that I can get ( on a good day ) TV stations from Fremont ( mount allison? ), San Francisco ( sutro tower ), Vallejo, and Mt. San Bruno. So I got better reception, stronger signal due to the booster. CBS would get grainy sometimes on windy and foggy days, now seems clear. Quick and easy to install. Also works to boost FM signals. I was getting some S.F. FM stations with staticnoises, that seems to be gone too. I am very happy with this purchase. This devices comes with a USB cable as well as wallwart for AC power.

The Amazon choice fooled me. This amp does not work.
I get the feeling this company is buying fake reviews. I bought this amp because of the Amazon choice rating, and couldn't be more disappointed with it. Prior to installation I got 21 channels, after installation I got 15 channels on the low setting and 0 on the high. It was hooked directly to my antenna in the attic of our house. It literally made everything worse. Total waste of money. I have since purchased a Winegard LNA-200 to replace it, and that one works great. It's a night and day improvement, and it's only like another 10 dollars more expensive.Bottom line, don't buy this. The Amazon choice rating fooled me. Don't let it cool you too.

Filtered out LTE interference
This unit was purchased because I live very close to a cell tower. TV signals, especially from a very distant antenna, were getting good enough signal, but still getting interference (pixels on the screen). The unit made it easy to install and the filtering worked. It removed the interference to give a good quality signal with no interference.

AWESOME!
I was skeptical about this, but I had to try it. I had recently connected all of our televisions to a large outdoor antenna that I put in the attic. It pulled in a few stations that we hadn't been getting with small antennas, but the signals were still pretty weak on every station and they hadn't stopped pixelating occasionally. I hooked this little contraption up in about ten seconds, and the difference was impressive. Our tv measures the signal with 1-5 bars, and every station got about two bars stronger. So instead of getting reception of 1-3 bars, it was 3-5 bars. I was worried about some of the comments that said the signal was so strong that it caused problems, but I haven't noticed that on any channel, even the ones where the signal is maxed. It's rare to find a product that is everything you want it to be, but this delivered.

Amplifier works
I purchased an indoor RCA amplified antenna at Home Depot for $35. It worked but I couldn’t receive the channels I wanted. I replaced the RCA amplifier with the Smartpass amplifier. I picked up 10 more channels, including the ones I wanted. Picture quality is better for all channels. I did not change the position of the antenna. Very pleased.

Try it for the price it's worth it.
I could not be happier with this. I read the reviews thought I would try it and if it did work would send it back. I lost a few key channels over the air this summer. I am new to cutting cable, I was not sure if it was the trees filling in or the tv station changed something. I took the leap and hooked it up re scanned the tv. Not only did I find my "lost" channels the channels I was getting came in stronger (my tv shows the bar strength) . It took me turning the outdoor antenna and re scanning a couple of times to find the right spot to aim the antenna. Bingo. It's all working great. Best money I have spent. Cut the cable.
