my grandson whos 10 wanted this for his birthday .he was really happy to get it and i love all his drawings he just keeps learning new ways to draw things .its a really great learning tool that he can go back to if needed as much as he likes

I wanted to broaden my horizon regarding my sketching and this book is assisting me in that area.

I’m just starting to learn how to draw. This book was very helpful. I strongly suggest other beginners give it a close look.

This has a lot of information that I did not learn in any previous book (most of mine are several decades older) and all of it is laid out in a way where it is as easy to learn as it's going to be. (You still have to get pencil and paper and put in effort....just the understanding is easier.)

My wife loved this gift. She draws and this is one of the books she said will definitely help her improve her skills. More than worth the money.

This is a how to book that delivers on what it says. I have the electronic version. There are some typos and some repetition, and as an ebook, the diagrams are not as easy to see. On the other hand, the lessons are concise and well explained. I particularly like the sections in which she answers questions from her students and shows samples. I am including my first practice drawing; some are better but I felt it was worth it. :-)

The book had too much text and not enough illustration. It is not very suitable for artists with any experience as I am. But very good for beginners in pencil drawing.

I really learned a lot about the different methods used for making art look realalistic through the use of different techniques used for filling in light and dark areas after drawing a piece of art. This book will also serve as a good reference when needing any questions answered regarding what and when to used different techniques used for shading.

I learned so much from this book. Each chapter focuses on a different aspect of drawing and shading. I found it useful to practise step by step and so gained in confidence and understanding.
