Szco Supplies Hunter Blade, 12-Inch

The handle is something I made and put on it, very easy to work with metal, not sure if it’s stainless steel, can’t remember if it was supposed to be but it’s still solid metal.

I just bought two knives from this company, this one, and a smaller skinning knife. The skinning knife was an inch shorter than claimed, and that was on the tang too, where is needs to have that extra length. It said it was 'supposed to be' 6-1/2" (inches) but it was only 5-1/2", so they shorted me on the tang, making it virtually useless. This knife however is different, not a complaint one from me on this. I saw no warping on the one that I have, I saw nothing out of the ordinary actually, and it's very sharp too. Also, I have no idea as to the hardness of the knife, I am not a 'knife guy', one that knows knives, I am only playing around with this. Actually, I really like the knife, I would wholeheartedly say, "Get it!" with the exception of, are they consistent with their deliveries with what the page shows, I can't answer that. In other words, if they screwed up my other knife, they could sure screw this order up, or... not. I do want to say that the reviews on my other knife were REALLY bad, the reviews are full of unhappy people that received the same knife that I did, a shorter tang than what they show on their web page. (I somehow missed reading those reviews, I only read this one) Now, this has a full tang, so this is different, the other had a partial tang, so that might make all of the difference in the world. So, I'd have to say that I am happy with this purchase, hopefully you will be also should you decide to buy.

Slap a handle on er and start tuning. This was a good blank for my first knife. The brass guard was a bit loose so I had to hammer that on prior to fastening the scales.

The price says a lot!! I'm not very impressed!! It's definitely not stainless steel! The tang is oddly shaped and way too big. The holes in the tang are too small. The brass guard is huge. The edge has a ridge on it and needs honed. It'll take a lot of work to make a half way decent knife out of it.

Makes a great gift

Despite the price it seems to be decent still you do have to clean up the Tang but that's part of the process LOL it was an interesting project and I enjoyed the build and then gave it away to the first person that could answer a specific question about the knife

I made a wood handle for it and JB weld the tang in place. Blade sharpens good and I will use it on game animals shortly

Muy buen cuchillo, tamaño y filo muy buen producto.

I like the overall look of the knife but I have had to grind back the handle grip curves as they do not suit me hand. Not a show stopper but might be nice to leave the full steel and let the buyer adjust as needed.
