Alpine KTX-C10LP License Plate Camera Mount + Alpine PCAM Rear View Camera Bundle

Looks great, has a great picture, very sturdy, only problem was I had to do some small modifications to the bracket plate behind the camera so the wire could be run properly.

The video wire needs to be a little longer. I installed this on my truck following the frame of the vehicle to protect the wire as much as possible. If the wire had been 1/4 of inch shorter I would not have been able to connect it. The wire is thin enough that if the manufacturer were to add a foot or so it shouldn’t add to much to the cost of the product. Other than that, seems to be a great little camera for the price.

While others may have had an ok time with this I found this to be rather difficult. Full disclosure I did not get the point of complete installation and functionality since i quite before. 1. The KTX-C10LP bracket is meant to be used with the following cameras a. HCE-C105, HCE-C107D, HCE-C200F, HCE-C200R, HCE-C300R, HCE-C104, HCE-C125, HCE-C210RD, HCE-C212F, HCE-C155, HCE-C157D, and HCE-C305R b. The cam provided is Pcam-Bulk. 2. Installation instructions with C10LP indicate to use the screws with spring washers from the plate kit instead of the screws that came with the camera. The only way to attach the small square bracket to the back of PCAM-Bulk is with the use of the self tapping screws that came with the camera. 3. The square camera bracket then connects to the rectangular bracket. There is cut out in the rectangular bracket for the wires to go through. The large section of the cable(ferrite core, to filter out electrical interference)on the camera cable will not fit through rectangular section(which then mounts the entire camera assembly to the license plate frame) with out being filed/cut/modified. 4. The installation picture above shows the cable being routed above the rectangular bracket. I tested this and while it may be possible, it then puts enough strain on the cable it forces the camera to point down and it may point down to far to be useful but since I stopped I can only assume. 5. Opinion: Once seeing all of the pieces together it does not appear to be easy to adjust the angle given the two set screws are on the side of the camera covered by the two lights on each side. I also assume the cable pathing of an unmodified installation would also be stiff enough to make angling difficult/impossible since the continued pressure and movement of being on a car would cause to constantly move.

Brought to a mechanic and easy install in my 2013 Subaru WRX. Doesn’t block the license plate and you get a pretty good camera!

Discrete, centered camera location. Clear picture quality. Sturdy metal frame. 4 out of 5 stars because instructions weren't very clear and night vision not so great.

Garbage. I know it isn't authentic but I wish Alpine could get a handle fake items like these. Terrible video quality, camera quit after a month and is just blurry now.

This product looked to be high quality but did not fit my car. If you have an 2004 VW Passat don’t buy this camera. The bracket is too big for the space you have and you won’t be able to open the trunk
