Great Collar!
Works great with my Astro. I didn’t have any issues connecting to unit. Yesterday I took my dogs out hunting and the dog wearing this collar got over 800 yards away from me and I didn’t loose a signal or have any issues.

today the garmin dog gps paid for itself many times over
our 14 year old great pyrenees' back legs have been getting weaker and weaker for some time. we live in the Iowa countryside where there are many rainwater drainage ditches winding their way through the earth, and I've been concerned for awhile now that our dog jasmine would get into one and not be able to get out. today it happened - she is often gone for awhile from the front door of our country tri-plex, but when a couple of hours go by I begin to worry a bit that her back legs have given out somewhere and she can't get up to make it home. today she was gone long enough that I got out the base unit to the garmin astro 320 dog gps unit that I bought in january of this year, along with a second collar, so I can have a battery charged collar on her 24 hours a day, and turned it on and keyed it to the collar she had on at the time. the unit drew a line from where I was in exactly the right direction to where she was, about 300-400' from the tri-plex, stuck in a ditch in mud and cold water, and she could not get up by herself to get out of it. I could not see her until I was about 8' from her, and who knows how long it would have taken me to find her without the gps. I pulled the toyota 4-runner up to within about 20' of where she was, grabbed a handful of hair on each side of her butt, lifted her up and supported her while she walked out of the ditch to the toyota, got her inside and safe - legs have partially recovered by now, several hours later, but it will be a day or so before she is more or less back to what passes for normal for her. thank you, garmin, for making it easy to find and help my precious friend in a couple of minutes, which well might have taken hours otherwise. a good investment, indeed. thanks again.

Beware: the unit sold by this seller is NOT the T5 & therefore has compatibility issues
The T5 tracking collar is an excellent way of keeping track of your dog, which is why I've given it 5 stars. However, this review is about the unit sold by Conkeys in Florida. We ordered this product based upon the description here, and found - after failing to pair it with our Astro 320 receiver - that it actually ISN'T the T5 but the T5x, which is not compatible with that handheld. Amazon accepted the return, but this is just a warning to anyone who has the Astro 320 and is thinking of buying this particular product from that store.

First one didn’t last long.
Works great but the first one I bought only lasted a year before it quit working. So trying a second one now, we will see how long it lasts.

Hunting Made Fun!
Works great and makes hunting more fun. It is compatible with the Astro 320 Garmin, but beware that you will have to update your Garmin before using this collar or it will not work. Great product

Updated to t20... mistake
I didn't know that I didn't have the option of a t5 or t20. I received the t20 as an "upgrade" and I feel as if I wasted my money. Lost the ability to track my dog at a lil over 500 yards as well as 700 yards. I absolutely hate this t20 collar. I can't even update it through Garmin express

When they are working, they work great but....
Professional dog walker here, I take 6-12 dogs to the woods every day and let them run around off leash for hours at a time. I have 6 of these collars (some T5, some TT15). I put the collars on my deer chasing dogs, so that if we scare up a deer and they go chasing after it, I can follow along and eventually recover the pack. With the long antenna on both the collars and the Alpha tracking device, I can keep track of the dogs up to 1/2 mile away in hilly, heavily wooded areas. Farther than that is crap shoot for consistent tracking, but as long as I keep moving towards the last known good location on the GPS, I can pick up the signal again. Battery life is amazing, it lasts for days on the collars. The problem with these collars is that they are CONSTANTLY breaking down. There's an almost 100% chance of the GPS unit failing within the first 6 months, rendering the collar useless. I'm not talking breaking due to physical damage or rough treatment or anything. They just.... stop working one day. Good luck if your dog happens to be chasing a deer 3/4 mile away from you when that happens. The silver lining of that dark cloud is that Garmin product support is super friendly and efficient and will warranty out new collars with no questions asked, as long as you've had it less than a year. In spite of the fact that they have huge reliability issues, these are by FAR the best option for dog tracking I've found, and I've tried a lot of them. They're way better (and way more expensive) than the cellular based trackers like whistle. I'd recommend them with the huge caveat that they are not built to last.
