Very good choice for standard performance needs
You can certainly buy brighter bulbs than these at a higher price, but the trade-off is bulb life. Basically, the brighter the bulb is, the shorter the life. This difference in longevity can be amazingly large. Manufacturers publish bulb life expectancy info and you should take a look at this if you need or want to get new bulbs (this doesn't apply to LED lights, they generally have a much longer projected life). If high performance is what you're all about, by all means go get an HID or Xenon kit instead of these bulbs. For my use, stock bulbs are more than adequate. My bulbs were original 1992 vintage and the light output had gotten much lower over the years. This was compounded by the severe clouding of the headlight lenses. The result was diffused and dim lighting output. Driving at night had gotten a little scary at times and putting on the high beams didn't even help much. Replacing the lenses and installing these bulbs was one of the best investments in safety and performance that I've ever made. You don't realize how much your headlights have dimmed and become unfocused over the years until you put in new ones.If you want bulbs that will last and provide performance that is comparable to factory lighting, these are a very good choice. They provided an obvious difference in brightness compared to my old bulbs. If your lenses are cloudy or have water in them you won't do much good by putting in new bulbs - you need to replace those lenses. And when you do, replace the bulbs at the same time and you should have years of trouble-free operation.

Not worth it ...
I bought this because even though it isn't supposed to be the brightest option, it was supposed to last the longest. Well, mine lasted a little over a year - and it was never very bright at all ... like not even close to the OEM bulb that it was replacing. Now that it's out again, I'm on the hunt for another bulb, but I WON'T be buying this one.

OK bulb
One came open already so that was a little upsetting. You get what you pay for after reading all the five star reviews I guess I had my hopes set a little high. Was hoping for a brighter bulb, which it was brighter than my old ones obviously that needed replaced....it was good just nothing great. But for the price like I said it seems priced right for quality.

Worked for our 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan
I bought this thanks to the exceptionally low price. The one I replaced was made here in the US of A, while this new one from Philips was made in another, much more populated country with a predominately red flag. Perhaps that is why it was so inexpensive - and for all I know they're not made here anymore.Installation was relatively easy. You don't have to use any tools (at least on 2000 Caravans). You just open the hood, spin the plastic retainer deal and pull out the old bulb. Installation is just the opposite. Make sure you sandwich the plastic retainer BETWEEN the plug and the bulb. Also make sure you do NOT touch the bulb with your bare skin. The oils boil when the bulb gets turned on and crack the glass. So use gloves or be really careful.

What's not to like?
It's a headlight bulb. It lights up. How could I give it less than 5 stars? Now, if I was rating how hard it was to install in a Ford Focus, that would be a different story. ;>)

Works great and the light projected is the same as the OEM
Product package was great and snug around the unit for decent protection.Installation was easy.Compared to my other headlight with the OEM bulb, this Philips 9007 bulb projects the same light output as the OEM so it dosn't look wonky.

Good headlight
The bulb works well at an affordable price. It is compatible with the original headlight on our 2005 Dodge Caravan minivan. This is the second one we have purchased and are happy with the quality and durability.

Dead after 6 months
It's a good price but went dead after 6 months of use. I had forgotten which side I had changed when my passenger side went out, after I got the bulb out it was the Philips. Very short life.
