Wider steps really do help
These are VERY stable ladders. I have the 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot IA stepladders, and the 20-foot IA extension ladder, and they are simply the best ladders I have ever used - even better than the Louisville ladder that one of the stepladders replaced. As I understand it, the DeWalt ladders are made by Louisville, but there IS a difference between the Louisville Type IA stepladder that I had and its DeWalt counterpart - specifically, the wider step(s) on the DeWalt stepladders, which really do add to the sense of stability and comfort of use. The wider steps start with the second step up, with the first step and the top [non-] - plus, of course, the top itself - being of "standard" width. Thus, the 4-foot stepladder has one wider step, the 6-foot has three wider steps, and the 8-foot has five wider steps. It may not seem like a whole lot of difference, but if you spend hours working on a ladder - hanging drywall, running cable, painting, etc. - the wider steps make a tremendous difference in stability, safety, and comfort. The "tool top" is also quite useful, with a good array of inserts and indentations, and a magnetized area, for a drill, screwdrivers, nails & screws, etc., further adding to the ability to work long periods on the ladders with a minimum of climbing on and off - and, thus, further increasing safety while also reducing fatigue. In spite of their stability, the ladders are not especially heavy, and all are easy to move around and place precisely with just one person. (The smaller stepladders are light enough to move with one hand, even while holding tools with the other hand.) In case you're trying to figure out which length(s) are best for your use, this reviewer (a 6-foot 4-inch 200+ pound individual) uses the 4-foot ladder for general work on 8-foot walls, the 6-foot ladder for working at and above unfinished 8-foot ceilings, and the 8-foot ladder for getting into attics and for outside work. The 20-foot extension is just right for accessing outside walls on a single-story house that's built three to four feet above grade, and it's also tall enough to access the roof.

Stable, light weight, well built,..
while i did find several similar ladders at a lower price none of those were made as well, as sturdy as this one appeared to be. while it may have priced a little more considering the cost of having to get medical treatment these days if you happen to fall? not worth it for me by a long shot. the ladder arrived via amazon shippers. i have never had them at our residence before but WOW i have never had a better experience period! i knew where they were using the provided gps route map. i knew how many stops until ours and they even called in advance to be sure we were around for delivery, excellent! the ladder construction was just as i had hoped for based on the photos here and reviews. it is solid, light and a perfectly designed ladder. having wider feet and four of them unlike some results in better stability. *note - i only made mention of the delivery portion as for this product unlike others, it's part of the ownership 'experience.' is very important considering most of us have more to do than time to do it in. so i didn't lose a whole day waiting and watching and that for me adds value to the ladder. to close up for myself this is a five star ladder all day long so to speak. there is nothing i would change and i would without reservation recommend this to family, friends, to anyone.

All Black Seven Foot Ladder!
Not a DeWalt fan by far. But DeWalt has me sold on their ladders. Started with a six-foot DeWalt ladder from Home Depot. All Black, just take off all of the stickers including the DeWalt logo. And you have yourself the finest product DeWalt makes. Had the Six foot for a couple years till my Apprentice Electrician loaded it on my truck and didn’t strap it down. That poor ladder lives on the side of the interstate highway somewhere in Texas now. I was upset and looking for a replacement, and DeWalt came to me again with a Seven foot all black piece of work. Even better! Fired the apprentice! And now, if you see an all black truck with an all black Seven foot ladder strapped up passing you in the fast lane at 95mph, just smile and get yourself one!

Typical DeWalt High Quality -- Maybe Overbuilt for Common Purposes
This is the first DeWalt product I have given less than five stars. It is a great little ladder but, now that I have worked with it, it would not be my go-to short ladder for general purpose use. It is too heavy -- heavier than it needs to unless the load is going to be 300+ pounds. The little Werner is less expensive and easier to work with. This DeWalt even takes a dedicated effort to separate the legs.

Dewalt Ladder
This is definitely a great 4 foot ladder well worth the price. It is nice and sturdy wide steps and has magnet at the top for drill bits this is a well designed letter worth every penny.

Sturdy and durable
The DeWalt ladder is manufactured by Louisville and has many of the same features as a standard Louisville ladder. For a couple extra dollars however, the DeWalt gives you a slightly wider middle step and extra reinforcement on all rungs of the ladder (including the one you're not supposed to stand on). The tool holder at the top is very handy with many (I think 4) holes for screwdrivers, a medium size hexagonal hole that's useful for holding pliers or similarly shaped tools, and a large hexagonal hole that is perfect for a hammer or a drill. There is also a hook on the back of the tool holder for hanging a paint bucket (I don't believe you can see this in any of the product pictures). Finally, the built in magnet strip is incredibly convenient for keeping bits and screws in place. All in all the ladder is durable, I feel safe on it (the extra wide step seems to be help with that), and the tool holder has useful features to assist with any project.

This is a well made ladder with a wide base and good bracing. I always buy fiberglass for the electrical safety issues with aluminum and fiberglass is heavier but this ladder is very light weight for the height. I also like the top having places for tools and small cans. There is a magnetic area on the top which should be useful for screws, nails and small parts but I haven't used it yet. I would definitely recommend this ladder to anyone in the market for a good quality step ladder.

Amazing quality! I’m 5’7 and 215lbs and it holds up very well. Mine came in black which i love, instead of yellow. It only came in with a thin plastic wrap, but who cares, it is a ladder. Love it! Strongly recommended.

This step ladder is all you would expect it to be and more. It certainly lives up to the good name of DeWalt in Tools. It is sturdy, well made, and you feel safe when using it. It looks very good also...

The ladder is incredible good. But overpriced in 20% in my humble opinion. Regarding the ladder itself, no complains but when I was purchasing it shows black version or yellow version. Even though you can't select what you want. So its a gamble when comes to your place. I got the black one which was my original intention but go figure that out. Another dislike is even though its a ladder it should come at least in bubble plastic. Nothing was wrapped on it. It came to me full of dust, many scratches and thousands of stickers on the ladder that Im only able to move it away with goof off. Thats all

Super strong & rigid, doesn't need a helper to hold it like flimsy aluminium ladders. You can climb up to the top climbable step with confidence - the legs don't wobble, the whole thing feels solid like a rock. 7' height allows me (6') to reach the highest part of our ceiling where a fan is located (not possible with previous 5 or 6 foot aluminium ladders). 8' is too high for my home, since I can't extend it in the basement, so 7' is ideal for me. A bit too expensive, but it gives me access to what I need, I can toss the other ladders, and it'll be good for life. Arrived with just a bit of cardboard wrapped around the top, with kind of filthy black greasiness all over the aluminium. I couldn't tell if it was mold or mfg residue, so I cleaned the entire thing with alcohol. Worked great. A super 7' ladder, too expensive, but will last a lifetime.
