Hogue OverMolded Rubber Grip with Finger Grooves for SIG SAUER P228 and P229, Black - 28000

I had the cheap rubber that just fits over the grip. This one feels and looks great! 30 seconds to put it on and wow! Very nice! Wish I bought it sooner.

These grips are a perfect fit for a SigSauer P229. The installation instructions were clear and concise. While I am very mechanically inclined, the note advising Installation on the de-cocking lever side first was very helpful to preclude reinstallation. The form and fit of the grips was excellent and the grips greatly improve weapon control over the original rosewood grips, which are cosmetically nicer than the rubber grips but not as functional. I have several pairs of Pachmayr pistol grips and the Hogue grips are very comparable. The only note I would add is the seller's description needs to specify that these grips fit both SigSauer P228 and P229. My Amazon search for P229 grips resulted in this listing but it was unclear from the description if the fit the P229 since the description only stated P228. I questioned the seller and was toP229 which was correct.

I was getting a pinch every time I fired my P229 and I found out that it isn't that uncommon of an issue with this pistol. The Equinox was already fitted with a short reach trigger and the wood grips always had seemed to be a little larger for me. So to help cure the issue I was told to try a different set of grips. Long story short the finger pinch is gone and the gun fits my hand much better. Maybe it is the grippy rubber or the grip pushes my hand higher on the trigger, but I am quite satisfied with my set of grips. Installation was a breeze. The only recommendation I would make is to add a choice to include the proper mounting screws. Because of the wood grips and being the Equinox version of the p229 mine screws were stainless steel or maybe brushed nickel. Easy availability of black matching screws wood have been a great benefit.

I recently purchased the Hogue rubber grips for my 9mm Sig Sauer P229. The grips are easy to install; just unscrew the old ones and screw on the new ones. The grip is noticeably wider than the traditional stock grips and would be best suited to those with larger hands. The excellent grip texture and finger grooves make the pistol very comfortable and smooth to handle. I have heard a few friends comment that the bulky grips can sometimes get snagged on the undershirt when drawing from an in-the-waistband holster. I have one of these holsters and have not noticed any issues drawing the gun. Overall, these are excellent grips for an excellent price.

Adds a secure feel to the firearm installs easy, not recommended if you have smaller hands as the grip is wider than the factory sig grips. Tip for install, a dab of blue locktite on the screw. Once screw is fully into the frame just barely sung only tighten 1/4 turn more to avoid stripping the aluminum frame, it would be a very costly mistake.

This is my second set of grips from Hogue! I have a P220 and a P229 Nitron. These grips change the whole feel. Your hand will fit these like butter if you have a larger hand, your fingers will fall into the forward grooves naturally and create a better feel of control, comfort and accuracy! These grips are well worth the money! Grab a Hogue!!

I HAVE SEVERAL HANDGUNS, AND TRIED MANY DIFFERENT GRIPS. THESE ARE THE BEST FIT AND FEEL OF THEM ALL. YES, THE EXPENSIVE REAL WOOD GRIPS LOOK GREAT, BUT THESE ARE MUCH EASIER TO GRIP. I NOW HAVE HOGUE RUBBER GRIPS, WITH FINGER GROOVES, ON ALL MY GUNS. BEST OF ALL, THE PRICE. YOU CAN PAY OVER $100 FOR THE FANCY ONES, BUT THESE ARE ABOUT $20, AND EASY TO INSTALL.

Hogue makes a great after market product here. Again for you folks out there looking to improve you Sig Sauer M11-A1 this is it. Use that 228 on the side of your grip for ordering items...it's there for a reason. I've been able to get a tight fitting SigTac holster for I ad hoping that the Galco leather holster I ordered will fit just as well. But after shooting with the Hogue grip on the weapon I can tell you the recoil is almost unnoticeable. Either get this one or without finger groves and you'll be happy you did so. Gives those of us that need a slightly larger grip than the stock it came with a good upgrade.

Bought for a Norinco NP34. Had to trim around the mag well as others have posted, but other than that it works well. A thin line on the back also like others have mentioned - but not big enough on mine to worry about. Definitely more comfortable that the stock plastic ones...
