biOrb Ceramic Media

Many filter media look just like a filter media. This is the only ceramic filtration media that actually look like a loose rock. Very appealing in a fish tank and actually have valuable function as the filtration media inside an aquarium. You do not need to own a Biorb tank to use this ceramic material. It look good sitting at the bottom of any tank out there and will grow millons of bacteria that neutralize fish waste in your tank.

Not bad get the job done

This is probably one of my favorite bio media. Be warned that this media is quite large. I did not use this for any biOrb system but instead used it in a freshwater refugium. The nice thing about this media is that it is very similar to the texture of broken porous rock and looks very natural. And even though it is quite porous, it does not begin to look dirty or clogged even after months of use. I noticed my nitrates dropped from around 20 ppm to about 15 ppm after putting this one pound bag in my small refugium. I only use this ceramic media in my refugium, but an additional filter I have running on my tank runs other ceramic medias. If your need is a bio media that works well, looks good, and you're not wanting to clean or change the media that often, I would highly recommend this product.

This is great, but expensive.

Originally purchased this for my Biorb aquarium but was so impressed with the filtration and bacteria benefits that si bought it for my other fish tank as well. The goldfish love it, and I think it’s helped stabilize my water. Highly recommend.

Rinsed and put in small biorb and was ready for fish.

This package came with much less than comes with the aquarium (seems like less than the 1lb it advertised, but I didn't weigh it). Also the pieces were much smaller than what comes in the aquarium. Pretty overpriced for what you get. If I could do it over, I would have purchased ceramic media balls and put them under the biorb ceramic rocks that come with the tank.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical but I needed the media rocks either way so I got them. I was surprised with how much rocks came in the package!

I think most of negative reviews read the instructions wrong the minimum size pieces you can use is 5mm not 5cm and 99% of the 3 bags I bought were bigger then that

Excelente material muy recomendado, hace lucir muy bello al acuario.

Changed the media at the bottom and replaced with this in my tank and its nice and clean and all the fish are alive. Cant ask for better
