A Kitchen Must Have
If you love your cooking, you need this product!!Nothing but praise for the quality of this item. The accompanying app has more cooking options than you'll ever need and it always cooks to perfection. It's the perfect size for anything from steaks to roasting joints to full size birds. The probe and app are way more accurate than cooking instructions for roasting joints so trust it! You'll end up pulling your food out earlier than expected but it's never wrong. The app is so easy to use, after starting the cook, wait a short period and you'll get an estimated cook time plus the current temperature. When it's time to remove the meat it'll also alert you.One of the best purchases I've ever made for my kitchen.

Very useful addition to safe cooking timings
I use the meater successfully on most of my roast cooking these days. However its when cooking chicken thighs in a shawarma style it becomes really essential. It allows stacks of 600g /1kg stacks of thighs to cook to a perfectly safe internal temperature, while remaining moist and cooked to perfection.Of course when entertaining I take all the credit and never admit to the essential assistance it gives.

Almost perfect, poor instructions
The concept is great, the form is great, and the function is great, once you realise the limitations: TLDR you're paying a lot for the wireless function. The initial setup is straightforward, bear in mind the recharging process is derived from a AAA battery. Pairing the device is easy over Bluetooth, and providing you realise that the range between the probe and the receiver is quite short, especially if you're using an oven. If like me, you're fridge is close to a built in oven, then it will attach magnetically to it. The meater + has a good range from the receiver to your phone or tablet, and unless you live in a castle or your grill is on the ground floor of a high rise block of flats you'll have no problem connecting it all up. In use, it's ridiculously simple, the app is intuitive and easy to use, and the UI is perfect, ideal for a tablet set up on a kitchen worktop. However the confusion arises over the extended range option, which uses the meater cloud connection. You'll need to register your app account with their cloud for this to work, but you'll need more than one phone or tablet to be able to roam away from home and still access the data. So big -ve point #1 is you need more than one device, so if you don't, you'd need to add the cost of a tablet or phone to use this! Issue #2 is that the instructions fail to mention that for Android users, this remote feature is automatic, ie so long as both devices are logged into the cloud account, and the device left at home is connected to your WiFi network. I discovered randomly this feature from a YouTube reviewer, meater's own instructions on their website are confusing, or rather missing this important point!Other than that, it's worked well so far, and wireless is great for outdoor cooking!

Worth every penny
Really wondered if I’d get my money’s worth with this but treated myselfI was a chef some years ago and this was a complete extravaganceHad some issues initially with connectivity unless my iPad was within 6inches of the oven but that was resolved and the cook is brilliantI’ve used it for steaks, roasts - pork, turkey (18lb), roast beef - rump, rib and sirloin, and chickenAt times when the packet said do one thing I’ve trusted the ‘Meater’ instead and wow was an glad i hadYes not cheap but for me worth every penny

Incredible Accuracy
I have been wanting one of these for so long so took full advantage when they were on offer.Downloading and set up of the app is really easy, connecting via Bluetooth is also a doddle and you can be cooking in 5 minutes! The thermometer itself is literally just a metal stick on a wooden block (which requires batteries to charge the device) but don't let that put you off! The magic is inside and it really works wonders when cooking meat. I have done Pork, Beef Joints, Steak, Chicken and lots more and its been spot on every single time. I have even tested it with an older thermometer that I owned which is from another well known brand and they echo each other with temperatures. It can get a bit scary when first using if cooking a Sunday dinner for example for the app to give you a estimated finish time so you can plan your other dishes, but don't let that put you off, it does reveal it eventually and gives you plenty of time to get the other components ready for your meal. It also allows you the correct amount of time for resting which is also very accurate. The only thing that I do check is the UK recommended temperatures and programme them manually for my required temperate on some meats because I believe it's set for the American market, which is largely the same as ours but I think their pork is "ready" at a lower temperature than what we have in the UK, so it's worth keeping that in mind. It's also worth noting how high you can cook with the probe inserted, for example you are likely to damage it in a Pizza Oven at 900 degrees. The range is good but definitely not 50 metres so try not to be too far away.I would absolutely recommend this, so next time it's on a deal, try to get one!

Great tool for perfect cooking
Great product. I've done two Tomahawks and a chicken breast so far an all three were cooked to perfection. The app is amazing.
