Was truly like new, original bag all wires and instructions. Ordered on Sunday and was mailed out the same day. Different out put options from older box no problem for me but if you have an older coax only TV you may need a converter. This also requires an Internet connection (no wifi option), I used the same relay as previous device. Review: ... and I use wherever I go to watch my favorite shows on my TV - worked perfectly and I use wherever I go to watch my favorite shows on my TV....in foreign language countries this is the best thing going

Does what it says, and does it well
Full disclosure- I did not buy my refurbished Slingbox Solo through Amazon. My concerns before buying the box: 1. Only broadcasts in HD when you're using a computer hooked up to the same network (usually, your house) as the Solo; otherwise broadcasts in SD. And who watches anything in SD these days? 2. No built in wifi ability- have to either hard wire the connection to the router or buy a separate piece that lets you connect to wifi. 3. Longevity- if you check the reviews on the non-refurbished Solo, you'll see lots of discussion about these boxes dying. 4. iPad and iPhone apps to use the Solo are $15 each, and the reviews are hit and miss. My impressions after one week of ownership: 1. I've only used it at home and at my office. At home, it is supposed to broadcast in HD (same network as the Solo) and it does- looks great. At work, it is supposed to broadcast in SD but it looks REALLY good. Almost HD good. I have fast internet at work, so probably should take my laptop to a public wifi spot and see what happens to the quality. 2. I decided to put the Solo in the same room with the router so I could hard wire it, so I avoided buying another piece of equipment. Can't tell you what it would look like if it ran on wifi. 3. On the longevity, I did some research on why the boxes break and it looks like capacitors give out. They are cheap and fairly easy to replace, so I'll do the repair myself if I have to. Besides, at the price I paid, I'm willing to take a chance. 4. Haven't purchased the apps yet, so can't tell you if they're worth it. I just watch via slingbox.com which works really well. Other notes- be aware that the Solo "takes over" the TV. So, if your spouse is watching TV at home and you decide to watch TV while at work on your lunch hour, your spouse will see the TV change channels while you control it from your office. I think Slingbox sells a fancier box that allows people to watch different shows at once, but it's more expensive. The upside is you get full control of that TV- you can pull up recorded shows, you can tell it to record something else, you can pause/rewind/skip, and you can pull up on-demand programming. The web interface on slingbox.com works really well. Installation was easy, but you will need to provide your own component cables if you want to watch HD on the same network. All in all, impressive little box. If it keeps working, I'll be even more impressed.

I have this device now for over a month and has performed very well. Once you have it setup properly it performs flawlesly. You may need to go to the self help site of Slingbox site to configure your router properly and to get the right remote for your device. There is a small lag when watching from the TV itself but when you are not comparing both you never notice it. If you watch it over weak wireless signal you have to make sure you bring down the display quality and you should be good to go. All in all a great device and small enough to hide behind other components so you don't even know it's there.

The slingbox is a great option to watch TV away from your home. I saw it on TV one day and I order it right away. My son is studying in a College away from home. I connected the slingbox at home and he can now watch TV from his apartment as if he was sitting in our living room. This saved me from paying another cable bill. It works just as it was supposed to work. Relatively easy to connect. But you need to have a digital cable service at home and wireless internet, as well as internet access at the other location. (conditions that we have). I certainly recommend that product if you need to be away from home and want to watch the TV as if you are home.

Works very well. Watched CFL games in Hawaii. Can watch TV anywhere in the house and those locations that don't carry our favorite programs (like Hawaii)
