5 stars because the stories are so uplifting. This is one of my favorite OA books. Worth the time to read the entire book.

A Powerful Book
I read this book like a gripping novel. But it isn’t. This book is full of true stories from everyday people like you and me - but whose lives have been upended because of an addiction... to food. A compulsion to eat, to deny food, to vomit food, and to eat to the point of illness and/or even death. Why do some people become addicted to food and eat compulsively? And what is the solution? This book has all the answers.

A companion on the road to happy, joyous and free.
I recommend this book to anyone in OA recovery and to anyone looking into OA. While there is no substitute for personally working the 12 Steps and the Tools of OA, this book made me feel like I was doing so with friends. I need the personal stories found in these pages to both understand and to be inspired to work the steps and tools. The appendices by the various professionals was doubly affirming of the understanding of OA as the only successful program for treating spiritual, emotional and physical issues with food.

Getting control of your life.
Being a sober alcoholic for over forty six years my weight has made my blood surgar and pressure to be too high. This book showed me that I have a problem just like many of the folks' testimonies. I would recommend this to my friends.

What I liked about this book the most was
I didn't know what addiction meant until I read this book since, while I can't say no to food, I still believe in free will! While I haven't gotten my eating habits under control yet, this book surely planted a bunch of inspirational seeds in my head to do so!I long to "celebrate [food] sobriety" for 90 days! What I liked about this book the most was: it's a book filled with testimony! So I'm sure that every reader will find a connection to this book.

Priceless information
This is a very helpful/valuable piece of literature for anyone who has or knows someone who has an eating disorder. So very much in the book that I could relate to on a personal level. It's a relief to know that I am not the only person who has a tendency to treat food as something more than nourishment and to abuse my relationship with food.
