Fantastic! Throw in 3 or 4 packs at a a time to look like a level 2 wizard. Tear the packs open and dump the powder in without pack and you'll seem more like a level 5 wizard! Works best when there are active flames. Dump straight on simmering coals and you will not get the response you want.

We love having and evening fire out back on the patio and these are always a part of it, they ad interest and genuine beauty to any fire. These have fewer colors than the "rainbow" versions out there but the colors seem to be a bit more vibrant. Suggestion: Wait until the fire is going well and then place (throw) it into the hottest part of the fire.

Of the 4 types I've tried, these give the most vivid, longest lasting color. The picture doesn't do it full justice because a lot of the blue is rendered as white and it doesn't show the nuances of colors where the blue mixes with the yellow of the flame. It actually has spurts of subtle greens, reds and purples. The colors last up to an hour but the intensity starts to fade after about 20 minutes. Unlike the others, this one seems to do best when added to the hottest part of the fire.

Made some cool blue and green colors in the fire. Lasted for 15-20 minutes and next time we had a fire it was still blue for a while.

Each packet, when placed deep into the heat of the fire, will last for 25-minutes. Kids (and adults) love the colors.

Out of 2 boxes that were ordered 1 was already opened and missing 5 packs of color crystals. Very dissapointed in that.
