Great Padlock But Be Sure You Know if It Will Fit
Great lock, Extremely sturdy but unfortunately I would not use it. The shackle or the top part of the lock was not exposed enough to fit into the locking mechanism of my storage unit. Had to purchase a different model but saved it for the moving pod where my household good were going to be transported to my new out of state location. Guess what? Again, the lock shackle did not fit the locking configuration for the pod. So I ended up with a very sturdy padlock that I was never able to use. Not the fault of the manufacturer as this is a great padlock. Just a word of caution that the limited space of the shackle might not conform with what you are trying to secure.

Avoid
Solid lock so farAccidentally dropped it and it fully reset and won’t lock again- trying to fix currentlyCan’t get ahold of support, lock won’t lock again. Ordered a new lock to use the new key and did the whole reset process and it’s not working. Pretty bummed as this is fairly priceyEdit: now my second lock is broken, and it randomly changed combinations overnight haha. It takes some force to smack it to get it to lock in place.. will not be buying a third time

All show and no go
This lock started off strong and working properly. At first my only gripes were that the combination was difficult to manipulate and the requirement to push the shackle deep made it difficult to use a heavy gauge chain.About a month ago it became incredibly difficult to open and close the shackle so I hit it with some WD-40 which helped a little. The relief has been temporary but I tolerated it due to the perceived strength of the lock. That all changed yesterday. After less than a year of service, the lock slipped out of my hands, again, fighting to push the shackle in place. It hit the concrete and the shackle guard cracked open.If you look at the pictures you can see the inner material, which looks nothing like solid steel. I'm not sure exactly what this is made of but I expect more out of a $50+ lock.Abus needs to be reminded that they are not in the business of locks, they are in the business of piece of mind. Since I have no confidence in the quality of the product. It is useless to me and I do not recommend it to anyone who wants a heavy gauge lock and the peace of mind that comes with.

Great secure lock!
Works great easy to change the combo, opens easily, and you can reset the numbers while unlocked. Many other locks can not... the chains fit nicely and securely...

Incredibly beefy combination lock.
This this is a very sturdy lock, and locks up a shed, it is the most robust part on the shed.I would caution anyone looking at this to make sure that their application has enough space for the very thick shackle. What I’m using it on is robust and designed for a beefy lock and it just barely is large enough to accommodate. Also, the size of the shielding around the lock makes the lock not sit flat against The building. I don't mind it being tilted up at a 45° angle, but I could see some situations in which it wouldn’t work. If you’re going to use this on a bike, make sure that you have a sturdy enough chain to mount it to if you put this on a traditional chain, you’re not doing yourself any favors as it’s easier to just cut the chain than it is to cut this lock

2yr daily outdoor use, works great
Daily use for two years and working great. Used for a driveway gate and opened multiple times a day. Only advice is to keep it covered from rain during the winter because the water gets inside and freezes the lock. Have another outside that’s uncovered, used intermittently, rotates stiff, but works as it should.

Seizes up if exposed to mild weather
I have four of these locks. Two are used indoors, two outdoors. The outdoor locks are on galvanized/plated hasps in locations that are exposed to mild weather (protected from direct overhead precipitation, but sometimes wind blows rain/snow on them). The two locks used outdoors show quite a bit of corrosion between the galvanized hasps and the lock shackles. I'm not sure what Abus plates the shackle with but it does not appear to be compatible with the plating either on Master brand high security hasps or on the generic hasp used on my local storage facility's lockers. I've been keeping an eye on the corrosion but it didn't seem to impact the function of the lock in any way so haven't worried.Today I arrived at my storage locker to discover that the lock would not open when set to the combination. The shackle moves back and forth as normal when pushed in slightly - just as one would ordinarily to open the lock - but does not open. None of the usual tricks (sharp blow with a lightweight hammer or tool; spraying lubricant into the lock; setting each digit to 1 off the proper combination) worked - it was well and truly stuck. Time for the angle grinder.Something inside this lock must have the same kind of bad plating / corrosion issues as the shackle obviously does. This is very unfortunate as a lock with a heavy shackle, shackle guard etc. like this one can be a huge nuisance to remove if it gets stuck shut. I would expect better from Abus - this is literally the first Abus product that has ever let me down. Do not use this lock for outdoor applications.
