its a 12 in scissor but how long is the actual blade?

Blade length is 8 1/2 inches The whole scissor is 12 inches. But these are huge scissors.

Are these left or right handed?

That was a few years ago when I ordered theses. They are right-handed. Would not recommend this product. Difficult to handle for me - a woman with large hands. I actually ordred them to use in the garden to cut back plants in the fall.

Can these scissors be taken a part to do your own sharpening?
