Looking for a commercail opener that requires you to hold down the close button to close. For safety reasons. Will this work?

In our system you push the button and it goes on until the door open or close. You don't have to hold down the button, it might not work for you.

Can this be used with a Liftmaster LA500?

Once your Listmaster allows you to operate from a normally open switch then it should work. Contacts close when pushed.

What kind of wire do I use to wire it?

4 strand telephone or door bell wire will work

Defective 3 Button Opener

I am not saying this one, but I have received some that are defective. The one I just got from Amazon, is not defective. I tested it when it arrived, In the last 3 weeks I have had 3 defective ones, none that come from Amazon.Just want you to know there are bad ones out there.Thanks

Looks great works great

Exactly what I needed to fix my issue, I had old worn out wall controls that were giving me problems operating the garage door. I swapped out the control boxes, which fit perfectly and look great, connected the wiring and now the door is operating like new. Great price and fast delivery. Very happy with my purchase
