The Division- should you play or not??
So finally I got around to playing 'The Division'. I was a bit skeptical at first. The most common criticism was that the enemies were bullet sponges and that a player had to empty an entire magazine to kill them. However, in one of the past updates, they had reduced the time it takes to kill an enemy. I have put in close in 65-70 hours in this game so far. I have reached Level 29. Here's my take on the game:The game is FUN if you know how to play it. This is not your usual run & gun type of game (like COD, Battlefield, etc.) so don't play it like one. I'm saying this because I have seen quite a few number of YouTubers play it that way. This game has cover-based shooting mechanics. So use it. You will NEVER RUN OUT OF COVER in this game. Stay behind cover and move from cover to cover when engaging with hostiles.Every single gun that I used in this game has wicked-level of recoil (IMHO). Fire 4-5 bullets in one go and your crosshair shifts sideways. I have never seen this much recoil in any game I have played till date. Maybe....just maybe, this is the reason why you have to empty magazines after magazines to kill a handful of enemies. So what to do? Fire in short bursts. It will not only improve your accuracy but will also down your enemy in fewer bullets. Unfortunately, you can't toggle between automatic and burst mode in this game. So you will have to train your fingers to do that. Next: Plan your loadout properly. Have an assault rifle as a primary weapon, Shotgun as a secondary weapon and a pistol as a tertiary weapon. LMGs are a waste of bullets because of the above-mentioned reason (recoil). Also while choosing loadout pay attention to proper attributes. While choosing an assault rifle look for higher DMG (short for damage in the game) figures rather than going for one with higher 'firepower' figures. Believe me, this makes a huge difference when you are out there reducing your enemies to cottage cheese. Also, choose your abilities wisely. My favorite is the seeker mine which drops small incendiary grenades on your enemies. It does one heck of damage to a number of enemies. I think I have covered everything that I have learned from my experience and that what has made this game fun !! Have a fun game!!
