The requirements of most people are paradoxical. They want the brightest which also last the longest - as also economical! That does not happen! If you want still brighter, go for the GE Nighthawk Sport or Sylvania Silverstar - they are slightly brighter, but have shorter life-spans. [Only HID will be really brighter with longer lifespans. But then you will need custom builds - no ready-made kits are available for H4666 replacements. And LED is still not available except as fancy trims.] BRIGHTNESS: If you had really old lamps, these will appear really brighter. Otherwise marginally so. I find them as bright as those of neighboring new cars (except the premium ones). SPREAD: The spread is much better to the sides (specially to the right) than OEM, and also slightly further ahead. LONGEVITY: The extrapolated longevity is twice that of OEM and Silverstar - but only time will tell. The lens is glass and will not become hazy. The brightness of headlight is really dependent on several factors: (1) lamp itself. Older filaments gradually become thinner and offer greater resistance thus smaller currents. (2) reflector reflectance. As they become old, they lose their reflectance, and should be replaced every 5 years or so. (3) lens transparency. (never use ammonia-containing "glass" cleaners on car lens - they make plastic hazy). OEM Wagner was plastic - this is glass. (4) Fuse. Old fuses have increased resistance and they supply reduced voltage to the headlamps - these should be periodically replaced (some use higher rating fuses to get better light - NOT recommended). The advantage of sealed beams is - all first three items are replaced together (if possible, have the headlamp fuse also replaced with a fresh one).

Well, I finally found the few minutes that it took to go ahead and replace my headlights. I was a little irritated about replacing lights that were still working. However, when you can see your turn signals reflection off of the roadway at night better than you can see the headlight's reflection, it is time. The difference was actually unbelievable. I do not understand the comments that say that they can tell no difference, because in my case the ability to see at night has been restored. As an added side benefit, the look of the truck has been greatly enhanced by the clear, bright looking, glass lights vs the old plastic OEM headlights that I had watched yellow over time.

On first view, they are H4666XV lights, but the packaging (in the image) indicates the bulbs are 55W/65W... These are NOT. These are 45W (low beam) and 65W (high beam) which means the low beam is the same Wattage as the standard $10 Sylvania "basic" headlamp, as well as the OEM Wagner headlamps in my Ford Probe. The only difference is the high beam, which is 10W higher than the OEM Wagner. If you are looking for brighter low beams, you'll have to upgrade to a more expensive bulb, but if you are looking to maintain factory performance (output), these are it... but with brighter high beams than OEM. Using these headlamps in concert with 55W fog/driving lights will make a HUGE difference. My car has factory 55W fog lamps, which are only on with the low beams, so higher Wattage high beams are what I needed anyway! The output from these lamps are well designed, as they have a bright, wide beam with crisp cut-off to the left and top, with a well-scattered wide-angle for side-road view. High beam pattern is amazing, with no hot-spot... just clear, wide, white light WAY down-range!

I can't believe that it took me so long to replace my old bulbs. They had become worse than the old VW Bug 6 volt lights. It was an easy replacement that took less than 30 minutes for both sides and now I can see at night. The old S10 is good for another 150,00 miles.
