Xbox One is a lot of fun for the whole family.
Got my Xbox One for Christmas. I have been using the PS4 for the last few months. First let me say that the PS4 is a nice gaming machine and I have no issues with it. I got the Xbox One with Kinect. It came with Dance Central Spotlight. I haven't had so much fun playing a game in a long time. I sucked of course and my wife kicked my ass but it was a hilariously fun good time. After playing some games, Alien Isolation, Dead Rising 3 and Fantasia it's clear to me that if I could only have only one console it would be an Xbox One. The PS4 is good at playing games but the interaction with the Kinect sensor puts the Xbox One over the top. I have my Verizon service hooked right into my Xbox One and I can change channels and watch TV with voice commands. The voice commands work perfectly once you set everything up correctly. I can turn on my whole entertainment system with a simple Xbox On command. If I'm in the kitchen and I want to watch tv while I'm making some food or washing the dishes, it's a simple Xbox On and Xbox watch ESPN. I can easily switch back to gaming with a simple Xbox command. you can even use the snap command to access 2 things at once on your screen. I haven't used the snap feature to much but I saw where you could keep fantasy football stats on the side of the screen while you are watching football. I'll check that out this weekend. The added dimension in games is incredible. To much noise in the background while playing Dead Rising 3 and the Zombies turn their attention towards you. One of the big selling points between the 2 consoles when you talk to fanboys is the beefier specs that the PS4 has over the Xbox One. I originally bought the PS4 first just because it has slightly better specs and I knew I would get the other system for Christmas. When you are playing the games you can't tell one system from the other graphically. The games both look good for consoles and if you are comparing the graphics of the two consoles as selling points then I have to just laugh. One thing I will say as a PS4 owner. The PS4 boasts 1080p all the time but what they don't tell you is to maintain that resolution at all times you get plenty of performance loss in frames per second. The Xbox on the other hand scales down it's resolution so that the framerate doesn't dip. I'll take framerate over minor resolution bonuses any day. These complaints are minor and not game breaking but it's something I have noticed since owning my PS4. If you are in it for the graphics then buy a PC. My Gaming computer laughs out loud at all consoles, Especially with my new 3 monitor setup. I doubt my PS4 will get much use from here on out except for exclusives and the games I already have purchased. Turning on your whole entertainment system with Xbox One and multitasking to using your voice is just to much fun not to use. With Kinect you can get the whole family having fun in no time.

awesome game system from a ps4 fan
I was a complete sony/ps4 guy. I decided to buy this for a few reasons. 1: I had a 360 and before it broke I really loved gears of war on it. I can't wait for the remake and 4 to come out. 2: I am a big madden/fifa/nhl guy. I usually wait until the games are on sale for $20-30 before I buy them. With EA access, I have all three of them and battlefield 4 for the price of $30. So far they have put every game on there once they have gotten a little stale. I am patient enough to wait for the new games to get on there so I have massive savings just on the sports games. 3. Sling tv. Playstation does not have this option. This may sound like a dumb reason but switching to a non cable option of netflix/hulu/sling tv and having it on one box is great. Now for the few cons I have experienced. This may be personal preference, but I prefer the UI of the ps4 to this. It is much easier to find stuff. Also, a big negative for me is the option of non-rechargeable batteries, and looking into the recommended microsoft solution, charge $25 for a recharging kit. I have been spoiled having this included. I also like the controllers of the ps4, but again, this is personal preference. I dont know why, but I feel the xbone controllers are bigger than the 360. One last con that is a big personal preference is I think sony has better exclusives, but it depends on your taste. I love metal gear solid (no longer exclusive, but was in the past), god of war, uncharted, last of us, ratched and clank, order 1886, etc. When I owned a 360, I primarily played madden, call of duty, gears of war, and halo, with not much else I was interested in. One last thing that most people probably think is dumb is I prefer the trophy system to the achievement system, but this is also why I love the xbox. Any multiplat games that I don't care about going for the platinum trophy, or there too difficult to go for platinum, I will just get on xbox one, because I could care less about the achievements. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Got this bundle with arkham knight, 3 month xbox live, and an extra controller for $350. Selling a lot of the extras made this purchase in the $250 range, which I think is perfect. I really have enjoyed my xbox one, and would recommend one to anyone.

All the 1 star reviews for this product are bogus. Great Product!
I previously read the reviews before buying this bundle and it was abundantly clear to me that the customers who gave it a 1 star rating obviously have unrealistic expectations of technology in general. I will get into that in a minute. I received my Xbox One last night. The outer cover for the box was ripped but it was only a protective sleeve. The actual box was just fine. I unboxed the product and hooked it up. The controller comes with 2 AA batteries so you won't need any at first. The Xbox one is larger than the Xbox 360 and does have a larger power brick than the 360. I do personally like the design, though. After powering it up I went through about a 5 minute screen that was the Xbox One screen and it just sat there, obviously just setting itself up for initial startup then the screen went black and began the setup. Okay, here is one reason a lot of people gave this a 1 star rating. I had to install a 500MB update immediately upon setup. Obviously the people at Microsoft wanted your Xbox One to function properly and as free of bugs as possible. Would you rather there be no update and have bugs that needed to be fixed, or would you rather download an update and not have them? Seriously. Also, people complained that the 2 FREE games bundled with this system are digital downloads. Who cares?! THEY ARE FREE. Anyways, the interface is a bit different from the Xbox 360 but is an enormous improvement. Also, the machine is nearly silent. A HUGE PLUS. My Xbox 360 sounded like a Ford Powerstroke Diesel. Anyways, I then proceeded to install GTA V. IMPORTANT: When you install a game. Go to your network settings and select "Go Offline". Apparently if you are connected to the internet the console may attempt to download the entire game from the internet. This will take forever. If you are offline it has no choice but to install from the disc. Once I installed GTA and installed the updates for the game itself I played for about an hour and everything ran very well. I can't wait to get home from work today and continue to play my new Xbox One.

I held out for a year...glad I did
So, I did not jump on the new generation of game systems due to the high prices, and a backlog of great games still to complete on my Xbox 360. A year passes, and the expected Black Friday deals began to show up, and honestly, this AC bundle that Amazon ran was too good a deal to pass on. An Xbox One, two downloadable Assasin's Creed games, two more downloadable games (Max the Curse of Brotherhood and Zoo Tycoon), and a full year of Xbox Live all for $329! That is a great deal in my book. Sadly, Zoo Tycoon is a completely forgettable game, and I deleted it from my hard drive immediately. Max is pretty good, AC Black Flag is great, and Unity, although I've only played a little of it, seems ok. Honestly, I'm not an AC fan, but Black Flag is fun. Anyway, I've been having a blast with my Xbox One...the controllers are excellent, the interface is ok (I liked the 360 interface better though), and overall, it's just been a lot of fun. Sunset Overdrive is a system seller, and the reason I made the decision to get the Xbone over the PS4. The game is fantastic. My daughter and I enjoy Lego Batman 3, and the Lego Movie games, Far Cry 4 is excellent, though in my opinion, not much of an upgrade from Far Cry 3, Dragon Age Inquisition is also pretty damn great. While so far the new generation of systems hasn't been the leaps and bounds improvement over the last generation...it has just begun, and I'm excited for the future. Overall a great value, and a great purchase, and a lot of fun for myself, and my family.

Xbox one trouble
Overall we've been frustrated by the xbox one. The original Xbox and Xbox 360 had decent console hardware designs with real buttons that gave user feedback when pressed. The xbox one has no tactile buttons and little to no user feedback when ejecting a disk, connecting a controller wirelessly, or using the power button. The problems first started with the controllers that would not stay "connected" to the console after a normal soft shutdown. This means the controllers won't soft start the console or connect when soft starting from the front of the console. Only by hard rebooting the console would the controllers be able to connect. This happened for both the controller supplied with the console as well as an additional controller purchased separately. After twittering with tech support, I was instructed to perform a controller update and an obscure link from the Xbox.com site was sent to me. Followed the instructions, but the problems persisted. Contacted Xbox support again and was asked if I had removed the batteries while the controllers were updating over the USB cable. Of course that detail was not in the instructions. After trying the third time to update the controllers it seemed to improve the connection issue. A few weeks later, when starting a game from the local DVD drive, an Xbox Live update blocked my ability to start the game. In fact all local games were blocked by the Xbox Live update despite the fact we don't use Xbox Live. So, after the forced update, I was asked to re-enter my gamer tag password. Of course, none of my passwords worked and the account is now locked. I contacted Xbox support over twitter again and was told to log into xbox.com with the email account associated with the gamer tag. When logged in with the email address shown as associated with the locked gamer tag, it shows my xbox360 gamer tag and not the one that's locked. After twittering to xbox support, this time I was told to contact Xbox phone support. During my called with Xbox support, the call agent was incredulous that I was having these problems and that someone would want to use their Xbox offline without having to log into the Live account. Of course, in the process of "helping" me unlock my account, he hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. That was after a minimum 15 minute wait in the first place. I tried to return the Xbox one, but it's past the return date through amazon. So, thinking I'm now stuck with an overpriced doorstop, I used my Xbox 360 account to access the games we've already purchased for the Xbox one, but of course any progress associated with the other gamer tag is lost. Using the other gamertag worked for a little while, but now the controllers are disconnecting, or rather disassociating, after the console is started with a dialog box that states "gamer tag is no longer associated with controller 1". Clearly the Xbox one is not ready for prime time. Funny, my Xbox 360 is a better machine than the Xbox one.

Not exactly "next gen," but still very enjoyable
I purchased this bundle back when it came with a $50.00 gift card in early January, 2015. I was hesitant after reading several reviews about the disc drive not working and the console not performing well, but I decided to take my chances anyways. I'll break the review down into several different categories, but before I do, I just want to mention that everything that came in the box worked (disc drive, game console, headset, controller, etc.). What's included: Xbox One, digital key for Assassins Creed: Unity, digital key for Assassins Creed: Black Flag, 2 week Xbox Live trial code, headset, 2 AA batteries, installation guide, assassins creed season pass advertisement, power cables, and an HDMI cable. Controller: I tested the controller out at Best Buy, along with the PS4 controller. While the PS4 controller brought back memories of playing Tony Hawk on the original Playstation, the Xbox One's controller seemed like a step down from the Xbox 360. It seemed very thin and cheap. However, once I received the controller and physically owned it and was able to use it, I found that it is very comfortable. I love the textured rubber grip on the thumbsticks, it is a great addition to the new concave design. I find the new thumbsticks and the new D-pad to be much, much more accurate in first person shooters compared to the Xbox 360. Some people have complained about the bumper buttons (myself included, prior to owning the controller). It's a different design compared to the 360 since you are no longer able to press directly down on the button unless you use excessive force. You must press the bumper buttons down from the sides, which is perfect granted the new design of the triggers which allow you to press the bumpers without moving your hands in an awkward position or requiring you to think about "correct hand placement" when pressing the bumper buttons. I think those touch-ups are fantastic. As for the battery life, I have been using the two batteries included with the bundle for the controller and have been using the headset on and off.. but it's been just over a week since I've got it in and it seems to have around 25% juice remaining (after roughly 15-25 hours of use). The controller definitely feels nice in the hands, I enjoy it. Xbox One Console [OUTSIDE AESTHETICS]: The new design is rather large.. I don't have much to say about it. It has a few HDMI ports, a few USB ports, a port for Kinect, internet, etc. The console is ventilated on basically every single side of the box, so the chances of it overheating are probably extremely slim. It's a very nice design. However, I have noticed that the black glossy appearance has begun to accumulate dust (like a dust magnet) just after a day or two. Also, be careful, the two buttons on the Xbox One console (eject disk and power on/power off) are extremely touch-sensitive. I can turn the console on/off by just hovering my finger OVER the power button. I don't even have to touch it. Be very careful with this if you're in the middle of a game. Xbox One Console [EASE OF ACCESS/USER INTERFACE]: As we all know, it comes with the interface of Windows 8. While it appears clunky and isn't entirely customizable, it is pretty easy to use. The "snap" or "dual screen mode," whatever you prefer to call it, is a little bit useless in my opinion. The secondary screen is so small you can barely navigate on it. It also takes about 10 seconds to load an app, which is really a long time and doesn't make it entirely user friendly when you want to record your gameplay without the use of Kinect. Overall, the interface is, in my opinion, clunky and a little bit on the slower end. Despite that, it is very easy to use. Headset: Works fine.. other people have said it feels cheap, which it is, but it works and is comfortable to wear. I don't really see any reason why you'd upgrade the headset unless you just have cash to blow. Accessories (batteries, digital codes, HDMI cable, power brick): Work fine. No problems. GLITCHES: I started encountering glitches on this console from day one. The only reason this is not a three star review is because the glitches do not occur all of the time. -Headset stops working randomly on XBL during CoD: AW (unsure if it's CoD or the headset, but reconnecting the headset seems to fix this problem). -Attempting to start a digital game in the middle of downloading has frozen my game and forced me to restart my console -The controller would randomly stop working (during digital download of Assassins Creed). Restarting the console was a no-go, as the console is, to my knowledge, always on standby mode if there's a download in the queue. Unplugging the power brick was the only solution to this (encountered several times, but only during the digital downloads). All in all, it's a good console. It's not exactly what I would call "next gen," as I feel the hardware and specs are outdated by a few years, but, it is still a good console. Though the interface may not be on par with the Xbox 360 in my opinion, I feel that the hardware, design, and controller are all upgrades from the previous generation. I'm excited for the games to be released in 2015 (The Division, Halo 5, .. Rainbow 6 maybe?). I'll keep this review updated as time goes on.

Even Great Products Have Issues
This is a nice upgrade from the XBOX 360, and for the price, I'm not sure how you can beat it. Some pros and cons below, and most of the cons are things that can be easily remedied, so get on it Microsoft! PROS + Bundled Price: 500GB XBOX One with two games (AC: Black Flag, and AC: Unity) for $350.00. Difficult to argue with that deal. Only issue was the games were digital, not hard copies, which takes away some value for sure, as well as the fact they both take up a tremendous amount of space. Still a great deal. + Controller: I was a big fan of the XBOX 360 controller, and this one is an improvement on that, while still being familiar. +Graphics: The graphics seem so much nicer and sleeker on the XBO as opposed to the XBOX 360. CONS - Storage Space: The XBOX One comes with 500GB, but it really doesn't. After the software that comes on it, plus all the updates, you're really down a good amount of storage space. With the industry trending to an all digital library of games and such, storage space becomes more important then ever. You'd think with this next generations of consoles, 1TB would be the standard, not the upgrade. After installing AC: Unity, already I've used up 10.5% of my total storage space. Not cool. - Console Size/Power Brick: With all the micro-technology around today, you'd think that things could be made smaller. You'd think they could build the power brick right into this huge console. I just want one simple wire running to an electrical outlet to power the console, but this huge brick is there taking up a lot of space. I'd like to see a console a lot sleeker with a lot more power, and I feel like the technology is there to make that happen. - Digital Download: Three main issues. First off the time to download takes a LONG time. It took almost 12 hours to pre-install AC: Unity. Second the value goes down because you can't resell the game once you purchase it, or use it on a friend's console. Third off the amount of space it takes up is tremendous. When you only have a limited amount of space on the XBOX, and it fills up fast, you're forced to choose what games you want. I'm all for futuristic downloads where I'll never even need to go to a store to buy it, rather just enter the code and it works. But when you buy the console it needs to come with a hardcopy of the game. - Packaging: I have to say I find the packaging on the XBOX One incredibly cheap looking (at least compared to my XBOX 360).

Great bundle at a great price! seriously, next gen console at just over $300, its worth it!!! Plus two games!!!!
I really dont want to give this 5 stars, because i am so annoyed with the interface that microsoft has on the one, compared to what was on the 360, plus its somewhat hard to manage. with that said, getting past the interface, this is a great system. i do love my xbox games and this console is a fun console to play games on. the graphics are considerably better and i love the multiplayer format and friends format better than the playstations. this doesn't come with the kinect, and i alreayd have a kinect from the first one i bought (this was for the bedroom). I do love the kinect as I can do things like "xbox on" and it turns on, or i can skype and all of that jazz with it. some people may not think its worth the extra $100, but for my living room set I like it, not for the bedroom (dont need to skype from bed). This set was awesome becomes it came with two assassins creed games, adn that is truly one of my fave franchises in the series. its a fun game to play and it has a lot of great replayability in terms of the multiplayer features in it. At $330 its a very awesome price adn I recommend it. Xbox may be losing the next gen wars at the moment, but I think it will catch up n the next year.
