Does this taste like Takis?

I have never tasted Takis, so I can't answer the question with certainty. However, they are described as being salty, spicy, and very acidic. The Spice Classics chili powder, in contrast, is fairly mild and not acidic. The chili powder does contain salt: 200 mg of sodium per teaspoon of chili powder. If a teaspoon of chili powder weighs about 2 grams, the sodium is about 10% by weight. If all of the sodium is present as table salt (sodium chloride), about 25% of the chili powder is sodium chloride. [There are different values on the Internet for the weight per teaspoon of chili powder, and the true value may differ between chili powder preparations, so take the above calculations with at least a grain of salt.]

Onion powder is onion. Garlic powder is garlic. Chili powder has a bunch of stuff in it, not just chili peppers. I don't get it?

The heat of the chili pepper comes from the Capsaicin that is the found in the pepper. (This part is purely my opinion.) If it is ingested in its pure form, It would probably cause severe damage to the parts of the body that it goes through. Chili peppers can cause severe burns in some people. To keep it in a more safer form, it is mixed with ingredients such as salt, coriander, garlic, etc. by the companies that make it to produce a milder form. To get a pure form of chili powder, you would probably have to make it yourself. I've not seen any ever sold. Safety first! Elizabeth

Is there paprika in this mix?

I don't know. The ingredient list is: Chili pepper, salt, spices, silicon dioxide (to make free flowing) and Garlic. I guess "spices" could include paprika.

What kind of salt is used?

According to the label, the chili powder contains 2% sodium. Therefore, the salt in the chili must be sodium chloride, which is ordinary table salt.

Couldnt beat the price of this item & the flavor is also very good. I make quite a bit of chili so this allows me to add the spice liberally and not have to worry about not having enough for another pot of chili. I was using 2.5 oz canisters and with my chili calling for 4 well rounded TBSP they didnt last long. Not anymore and the saving being 2 bucks for the small containers is just a thing of the past .....
