1984 [Paperback] George Orwell

Although this novel was written in nineteen-forties, it could predict the modern world. Nowadays, the government and big companies gather the information from people through social media. They can even control the mind of individual by advertisement. I felt sad when I read the ending of the story. not happy end, hopeless. But, I got absorbed in reading. I always looked forward the next chapter. Very thrilling!

An important work to read as a classic and as an indication of the ways things are going. As predicted.

想像よりも字が小さく、イラストが少ない。サンプルを読むとほぼ毎ページにイラストがあるように思えるが、実際は全然違った。こんなことなら、イラスト無しで良いから字を大きくして欲しかった。とはいえ読むのには問題ないです。

管理社会の恐ろしさを描いていると思いました。

Big brother is watching you!! kindle版 紙バージョンを持ってないので、きちんと比較できないのですが 大文字小文字 奇異な感じで混在 単語間のスペースがあるべき場所でなかったり 一つの単語が二つに別れちゃったり 編集というのか校正が十分でなさそうな部分が 割に多く見られます それはそれとしてお話自体は、現代につながる共産主義社会に 近い全体主義社会の恐ろしさをかなり如実に描いてる気がします。 thought police ってのは 現代で跋扈する political correctness なんだな、とおもった。
