Are the tips 100% cotton?

They appear to be. Box is nice feature. I'll re-use the box however, wouldn't get these swabs again for gun cleaning. the cotton falls off the tip and the sticks break easy.

Anyone come up with a alternative storage box? As others have stated, mine also arrived with a cracked and broken box.

Personally mine arrived ok. Either send it back. Or choose another type of storage box available at many places that will be more than likely better. The box is flimsy but does work. ( when not damaged)
