Works well with some, non-obvious, aspects.
Exactly what I wanted. Costs twice as much as their cheaper green laser pointer but is much better made, plus it takes a standard 18650 battery. Why is that important? If I'm in the field doing astronomy work and the charge gives out would I rather pop in a fully charged spare 18650 and be working instantly or seek for a place to plug in the charger and wait for it to charge? Also the pointers with built in charging usually have an awkward connector such as a USB A on the end or a cable that requires a dust cap that often comes off and then dirt gets in making charging difficult. Some use the obsolete Micro USB connector. I won't use the pocket clip nor included charger. I use a better external charger to charge all of my 18650 batteries simultaneously. I'd rather the power switch was momentary but that is not a deal breaker. The crystal pattern generator works well but has no practical value and if you screw it in too tightly you may have trouble unscrewing it since it rotates to get different patterns. If that happens a tiny bit of anaerobic thread sealant might stop it from rotating but try not to get it on the threads so you can still remove it. I'll never use it beyond initial curiosity. I’ll also never use a laser pointer to irritate my pet and potentially damage their vision. If you must, use a lower power red one. These devices are not toys. Think twice (or more) before giving one of these to a child. If you want one to use a laser to light matches, burn things or point at aircraft you need to find something more productive to do. Here's the ideal setup for me. I use a belt case that holds the laser pointer, a flashlight and two 18650 batteries that fit into either the flashlight or the laser pointer. The crystal diffraction doodah will fit in too if you must have it. All are high quality and work reliably. - Case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I5GSK1G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 - Green laser pointer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJS15VWP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title - Holder for two 18650 batteries (and crystal diffraction doodah if you must) - McMaster-Carr 2108T127 Only $1.47 but shipping will cost plenty ($10 ?) so best to order with other hardware needs. Please comment if you find a source with cheaper shipping. Flashlight - Nitecore MH-11 (link is too long to post or use https://shorturl.at/xYVPo) Why is this my favorite flashlight? Compact, rechargeable in the flashlight or you can use a charged 18650 battery. Most importantly, it is not in the competition to see if you can put a bright spot on the sun or burn out the on/off switch due to excessive amperage. On it’s brightest setting it is plenty bright but Nitecore seems to be the only flashlight manufacturer that realizes that sometimes you need a reliable dim flashlight (not just one with failing batteries). It has several selectable brightness setting you can step through until you find one that meets your needs. A press on the power switch selects each setting. A long hold shuts it off so that when you turn it on again it will be at that brightness setting. The dimmer settings make it ideal for astronomy and ushering work and lower brightness settings dramatically extend the battery life. Clearly a lot of time and effort went into coming up with this solution. Your kilometrage may vary. Not a cheap solution but worth it. If this review saves you time (and time is money, right?) it may be worth the cost to you too.

WOW... powerful!! NOT a cat toy!
Okay.. first off: This thing is really powerful! So please, please, please, do NOT think about using this to tease your cat! This one can cause some serious eye damage! Now; yes - very powerful and I love it. You can see the beam even in a dim room or a bit lighter. The point itself is unreal. Very bright! This laser is classified as a 1, according to the label. I'm betting it's close to a 3b laser. 3a minimum. So use it very wisely. The casing is very sturdy and a good solid on/off button. I had a previous one but the button was severely iffy. Finally quit working altogether. I got this one to replace it. If you're wanting a good quality laser, this one is it!.

Incredible Power and Precision!
I couldn’t be happier with this green laser pointer! It’s everything I hoped for and more. Power & Visibility: The beam is incredibly bright and travels far, even in daylight. At night, it’s like a lightsaber cutting through the darkness. Perfect for stargazing, presentations, or just having fun. Build Quality: It feels solid and well-made, not like the cheap plastic ones I’ve tried before. The metal casing adds a premium touch and durability. Ease of Use: It’s super simple to operate. You don't have to hold down the button, just click it on and off and It uses an 18650 rechargeable battery (included), and the package even comes with a charger, so you’re all set right out of the box. Battery Life: The 18650 battery provides long-lasting power. After hours of use, it’s still going strong, and recharging is quick and easy with the included charger. Safety Tip: This is a very powerful device, so be cautious! Avoid pointing it at people, animals, or aircraft. Overall, this is an outstanding product that exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re a professional or just looking for a fun gadget, this laser pointer is worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Good but improperly labeled
* Very bright, good quality laser. * The case is poor quality (not durable) & smells like cheap plastic. * The 18650 battery seems good. * The battery charger works, but isn't great (USB-A connector & 7" cord). !!! Not a Class 1 laser !!! I know these come from China, so I'm not surprised if the labels are incorrect. Mine came with a "Class 1 laser" sticker on it, but that is in no way correct. This is a minimum Class 3R (IIIR), I hope that they didn't drive up the power and make it >5mW but sell it as less than that to be competitive (i.e. it would be more dangerous & might require eyewear). Would buy again, but I'd like to know exactly how powerful the laser is since I can't trust the label.

Reach out and touch something
As a contractor I need to be sure I am on the same page as my customers. I use this laser to point and “touch” the item my customer is talking about, even 27’ up the side of their house from the ground. This tool is bright even in the sunshine where my red dot gets lost. It is the size and weight of a flashlight and fits in my back pants pocket. It feels like it’s built of good quality and priced right. The case is a cheep plastic box, but it keeps everything in one place.

Quite Impressive
This is quite powerful. Be careful, it's most certainly visible for miles! It is rugged and feels good in the hand. Interesting battery charging setup, but it works, and it comes in a nice padded case. Also, make note that it is not waterproof in any way whatsoever, so make sure you protect it. The beam is so powerful, it lights up everything, so it is great for pointing things out farther away, including stars and the planets. It might not make it to the moon, but you can annoy neighbors 2 blocks away. Do not point at aircraft or I hear they will hunt you down and find you. It's also powerful enough to melt eyeballs, so be careful playing with your pets, kids, zoo animals, whomever is amused more easily. Overall, a good buy.
