What type of adapter is needed for this drive? I am experiencing 40 mb/s transfer speeds.

After a minute or two with the stated speeds of roughly 800mb/s, the drive does indeed bottom out at around 40-50mb/s. This is nothing to do with how you have it connected. It’s just the drive and the sneaky way Crucial have advertised their ‘slower than a mechanical HD’ SSD
