However care should be taken when using salt that it is not to be added in large quantities so that it disrupts your bacterial colonies. Review after two months of usage.

My betta fish was suffering from fin rot and I bought this as a last resort! The progress of the rot declined drastically and my betta showed signs of getting back!!!Conclusion: The salt treats finrot and kills the progress. The salt did not help the regrowth of the fins though!!Caution: Use as recommended. The addition of salt to normal tank might decrease the bubble nest and this is pretty normal I believe! Addition of salt in high volume might lead to pass out of the fish. Look for signs of gills opening too much, if yes, remove fish and dilute the salt!!
