I wasn’t sure how much I’d like these based on the pictures alone, but I can tell you they are absolutely beautiful. I will say they’re not especially large, so if you are looking for oversized canisters, these may not be for you. But they are practical (the lids have seals to keep our air and moisture) as well as eye catching.

I wasn't surprised by the size. The height and diameter of each is as stated. Mine seem to seal just fine, and the lids are bamboo, not wood, and I like that, too. They won't hold a whole bag of flour or sugar, but I didn't expect them to. They hold enough for easy access on the counter while preparing food, and I can store the rest out of sight in a cabinet. I will say that they are not black and gold, as stated, but I was hoping they would look the same as on my screen, which is more black and copper, and they do. So I am actually pleased with that. If you have Tuscan bronze fixtures in your kitchen, this set will match well.

Great canister set...I'm using them in my bathroom. Was specifically looking for something NOT massively kitchen-canister sized and with lids that can be easily removed with one hand. Love them!*updating review as of May 2020*I took one star off because the tops started growing mold. I use them in my bathroom (which doesn't have the best ventilation) and since the tops are porous wood (bamboo I think?) I started seeing tiny specks of mold forming. I took the tops off, removed the rubber seals and thoroughly washed and air dried them. Then I painted them completely with 2 coats of matte black paint. Once dry, I replaced the rubber seals and have had no issues since!Still love them!

Received these today, was planning on keeping baking dry goods and coffee beans in them. The rubber seals around the tops do not seat securely enough for them to actually keep food in... They pop back up as the lid is not deep enough to seal, they pop up after pushing them on. They metallic design is pretty, but not really gold. I would call it more of a pewter look. overall they are pretty, but not practical. the smallest size is not big enough for brown sugar... maybe a salt crock or tea storage? but again, not air tight.

The wooden lids are not air-tight, but the seller agreed to send replacements which I haven't received yet. Very generous on the seller's part. These are elegant porcelain canisters...each size has a different pattern that blends to each other...could be used in any room...very dressy and expensive-looking.

The lids do not close at all.

My niece placed this item on her wedding list and specifically suggested that she would really like this....I received it quickly and in perfect condition. Looks lovely...as to its function and usefulness only my niece will be able to share about that after her wedding and once her home is ready.
