I really can't say enough good about this dye. I've been dying my hair for 15+ years, both in semi permanent fun colors and more natural colored permanent dyes. For semi permanent colors I've tried Manic Panic, Splat, Special Effects, and Pravana Vivids. I thought they all gave really beautiful results on pre lightened hair but ALL of them bled all the time! I have ruined my master bathroom shower by staining it, I've ruined countless towels and pillowcases, stained the collars of dozens of shirts...even when my hair was dry I would stain my fingers if I touched it. It was such a hassle that a couple years ago I went back to a dark brown permanent hair dye. I happened upon some reviews of this dye and decided to give it a shot. I am SO GLAD I DID! This dye behaves like a permanent dye even though it is not. When I wash my hair barely any dye comes out in the water, including my initial rinse after having it in. My linens and clothes remain their original colors and it's never transferred to my skin either. The grape smell lingers for a handful of washes but I like the smell so I didn't mind at all. After using it my hair feels soft and looks shiny. The initial application was a breeze, it almost absorbs into your hair and doesn't drip at all. And I got a really unique color by mixing arctic mist, transylvania and aquamarine together. It came out a really deep navy with a hint of green, my favorite color I've ever dyed it. Not to mention you get a lot of product for the price compared to other brands. I love this dye and I will be repurchasing it for many years to come! UPDATED AFTER 3 WEEKS: I have had the mix I described above on for a little over 3 weeks. During that time I went on a trip to a lake where I spent a ton of time in the water and sun (and we all know how horrible that is for semi permanent dyes) and I am beyond impressed at how this dye has held up. I was expecting a decent amount offading by this time (I had to dye my hair every 2 weeks with manic panic) but it has only changed colors and remained vibrant. I went from a dark navy with a hint of green to now my hair is more of a green blue color. It is still very vibrant and if anything I get more compliments now after it's changed colors. I am about to dye it again this week and that is only because I have a decent amount of my ginger roots showing, if my hair didn't grow so fast I could easily get another few weeks out of this color. AMAZING PRODUCT! I think as long as you properly lighten your hair beforehand you won't have any problems with this dye fading out or not looking great.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I have been going grey and used to have dark brown hair. I love the silver, but it is coming in in patches, making me look like a collie. Ok for a collie, but not for me. I went full on and dyed my hair the lightest blonde I could and it turned really orange blonde in a few days. I got online and read the reviews for all the toners. This one had the best review and pictures of someone my age with about the same grey in their hair. I got it, held my breath for a few days, then tried it. Being a all or nothing kind of person, I used the entire bottle and left it on for an hour with a plastic shower cap over it. When I rinsed it out it was amazing!! The blonde parts were white blonde, shading to darker blonde to lightest brown where I messed up on bleaching my hair. It looks professionally streaked and beautiful. I It also make my hair very shiny and silky and did not smell like chemicals when I applied it. It is the first time in the hundred years I have been messing with my hair colors that my hair and my complexion truly complimented each other! I looked a lot younger ( I am 57) too, which I didn't expect at all, Usually going blonder makes me look older. My husband thought it looked great, since it is the first time in thirty years he stopped telling me to "just be natural, why do you put that junk in your hair. you look fine the way you are..." etc. etc. Btw, NO women on this planet wants to be told she "looks fine"! Just a tip, guys!

I've been trying various brands of direct dye diluters as deep conditioning treatments for my very lightened hair. This diluter was almost half the price of others I have tried by volume and has the added benefit of being ever so slightly purple tinted. This absolutely won't work as a toner if you have "brassy" hair. My hair was nearly white with the slightest hint of yellow before using this and now it's almost perfect- I say almost because this product did not hold on to the bottom 3" of my hair. The only other product I've used as a toner that didn't go on evenly was Wella T18 when I first started toning my own hair over a year ago, so that was a little disappointing. Most of my hair is perfectly toned and the bottoms are still slightly yellow, which just doesn't look nice to me. I can only imagine how bad it would look if I had been trying to dye my hair a vibrant color. If your hair has even damage throughout, this product will most likely work great for you. If you've lightened your hair in stages and know the bottoms of your hair are a little worse off from over-processing, I'd recommend finding something else. Also, the smell!! I liked it at first, but it's a week later and my head STILL smells like grape soda. Maybe that's something you would like to smell like every day, but I'm really not into it and can't wait until it wears off. The main reason I bought this product was to deep condition my hair. If the points that I brought up against it don't sound like problems to you, I'd say that you should buy this. Despite my complaints, my hair feels and looks a lot healthier than it is after using this diluter.

I thought this might be what I needed to make my hair and beard white since my roots are growing out and my hair and beard started turning yellow recently from being dyed before. But it did almost nothing. I can't say it did nothing, but not enough to do anything helpful. I caked it on more than once, followed the instructions, used a hair dryer and two hair caps. One for the beard (had to cut a hole for my mouth) and one for the hair. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone who wants their hair white. I wasn't expecting it to work on my roots or my eye brows and even though I had no expectations I was still disappointed. Even though it's vegan I thought it might work, but I should have realized because it's vegan it wouldn't work.
