Equal to / better than blankets costing $50-$75
Odor: Ok, let’s start with the smell. I own 12 wool blankets from 10 different companies and they all have the same exact smell. It’s not flame retardants or pesticides, it’s lanolin , an oil which is produced by sheep. Think of the way your hair gets oily naturally, except this oil is actually useful unlike your oily hair which you should probably go wash. Lanolin is used in lotions, ointments and lip balm. Please don’t leave bad reviews for these wo companies saying that the blankets smell bad, and potentially turning people away from a great type of blanket, without educating yourself first. It’s supposed to smell like that. Open it, stretch it out and let it get some air, then fold it up and store it. Some companies launder the blankets but in my experience the smell is the same when they arrive. The past 7 wool blankets I’ve received, including all 3 of this brand, have been opened as soon as I received them and I laid each on the dining room table. I expected to hear my wife and 2 adult daughters complain that they smelled something, but they each walked within 10 inches of the blankets every time they walked to the kitchen so on average, 10-14 encounters each. No one even noticed an odor or said a word about it except to say “get your stuff off the table please”.These are the same women who believe that bad smells mean either A) the house is going to explode or B) there is definitely mold in the ductwork and it’s giving us Alzheimer’s. There is a slight odor at first but it smells like unscented lanolin lotion.Cleaning: I don’t know if this company specifically says to not wash in your top loading washing machine. Do not ignore my warning and run this in your washer and dryer then leave a bad review with pictures of your blanket full of holes and piles of shredded wool at the bottom of your washer. Most wool blankets are not made to withstand a washing machine. It pulls the wool from the material which binds it together and it all falls apart. Most wool blankets have this in common. Hand wash, dry clean or shake it out and hang it up. You can shake dirt and dust off easily but you should avoid spilling a smoothie or cheese sauce on it. Some say they are self cleaning. I’m not ever going to call a fabric “self cleaning” but you can go years without needing to wash it as long as you aren’t getting food or liquids on it. I imagine a dogs hair will become one with the blanket because anything that would remove the dog hair will most likely remove the wool as well.Quality: I have purchased 3 of these because the quality is exactly the same or better than my blankets costing $50-$70. My only regret is not trying this brand sooner. I really expected something of poor quality considering I paid $17 for each of these. This is one of those deals that I can’t resist sharing, thus the long review/infomercial. I’m telling all of my prepper friends, camping friends, van life people, nomads and anyone who looks like they might use blankets in their life. The value is incredible in a time when most things of quality and value are priced out of reach for a lot of people. Those are the exact people who can benefit most from this blanket.Size: The size at 90” x 66” is large compared to most others and that size is consistent with each I’ve measured. This blanket covers me at 6’ tall and will cover 2-3 people on a king size bed. These each weigh over 4 lbs and are legitimately 80% wool. The other 20% is necessary to hold the wool together as wool fibers are quite short. You can buy different types of plastic, mylar or fleece emergency blankets for this price (or more) but wool is the best and most natural material for keeping you warm and dry. The resistance to burning is a bonus. I consider wool blankets to be an investment because you can pass these down to many generations as long as you follow the simple care instructions and don’t destroy them in your washer or dryer. There are a lot of wool blankets still being passed down from WW2 and earlier. Take proper care and you’ll always have a dependable and warm blanket. I now have enough to keep everyone in my family warm in event of a power outage or other emergency situation. I’ll continue to buy this brand as long as they’re available in this price range. I keep wool blankets in my car for winter break downs. A wool and Mylar blanket combo is a literal lifesaver. I’ve spent a lot of money on wool blankets and I wish I’d found this one sooner and saved myself quite a bit of cash.

The best wool blankets for everyday use - Highly recommended!
These blankets are amazing! Way better than I expected. We are all putting them on our beds at our house along with our regular comforters for winter. I would say these are multi-functional blankets because they can be used for many different things from camping to emergencies and just extra winter warmth. The fabric is suoer thick with a wonderful warmth and feel.Yes they smell like wool. But that’s because they’re wool! Air them out a bit before use. No biggie. All wool blankets smell like wool. This means it’s the real deal. That’s what I ordered and I couldn’t be happier. Color is a dark gray and exactly what you see in the pic.Seller sent out the blankets promptly and I got them a day sooner than expected. I will be ordering again. These blankets are well worth it.

Top notch 80% wool blanket.
Very close to the GI issue, kind of between the heavy and lite issue versions. Outstanding heat retention while sleeping, if you suffer from cold feet at night here's the answer. Nice quality wool blanket at it's basic level for a good price. I ordered two more.Use a sheet or lite blanket to keep them clean, you don't want to be over washing wool. Wash warm not hot, and don't dry with heat. They should fluff out over time and get softer.Far as smell, slight sheepy smell but that just says it's the real deal. It will fade with time. These blankets have many practical applications, great moving padding when they get near worn out.

Wow
4lbs of wool greatness! Alot heavier than I thought it would be. Putting a zipper on it to use as a sleeping bag for bushcrafting in the winter months. It is black soft huge and does not have a weird smell like alot of the fire retardent blankets. Well worth the price. Cheaper than any blanket I have come across and the size is great.
