The cooler bag is well, the materials used seems to be of good quality and it was given attention to the details. The Stanley brand is stamped everywhere. For the price, I was expecting a thicker insulation than average or high tech materials to keep stuff colder for longer time, but in reality the insulation thickness is thin and the zipper closure style is not ideal for a cooler, the traditional flip opening is better and faster to open and close - and for a cooler the less time it is opened, the better it is to keep the cold inside. In summary, it is a good well made cooler bag but without any high tech or special insulation to justify the above average price. 4 stars.

I love my Stanley All Day Julienne Max Soft Cooler Bag in the Azure color! The description is incorrect and says that it’s mini, but it’s actually the max size. It’s compact but surprisingly roomy, and the insulation works great at keeping items cool for hours. I actually use it for grocery shopping; if I’m going to more than one store, I just pop my cold items into the bag in the car while I head into the next stop. It’s super convenient and keeps everything fresh. The bag is well made, the zipper is smooth, and the handles and shoulder strap make it easy to carry. Plus, it looks great too!

This listing is quite misleading. The word "mini" is in the title of the listing, but then there are sizes "max", "midi", and "mini". I received a max cooler and it is huge! Definitely not a lunch bag or daily use cooler for me. The listing photos are unmarked as to size and the ones that try to imply size context definitely show a cooler that I would say is lunch bag size, so again, I just think it's not a good or clear listing for the product. I'm going to be honest the list of price is also quite steep. It's certainly nice quality and a great product, but I think since this is not a daily use size for me, the value just might not be there (again, for me). I do think the product is made with high quality materials and will stand up to good use. The zippers are strong, it has a nice snap handle holder and also a carry strap. The value is definitely in the brand name and that's okay since it is a high quality brand.

I requested this Stanley bag thinking it would be a great lunch bag. But when it showed up, it was WAY bigger than expected—like, "this could double as a carry-on" big. So I shifted plans and figured I’d use it as a day cooler… except I already own two: the RTIC Ultra-Tough Soft Pack 20-can and the REI Trailgate 20L. Both are solid, work great, and cost a lot less. (The RTIC is currently about $104 on Amazon, and the REI bag was $130 when I bought it.) $180 for this? am I being politely mugged in a Whole Foods parking lot? The Stanley looks nice, but not rugged-nice—more like suburban nice. It would fit right in at a soccer game next to a Honda Pilot. Stanley clearly leaned into aesthetic over adventure. They also made sure you’ll know it’s a Stanley: the name is everywhere—zipper pulls, tabs, interior lining, even embossed into the strap. If branding matters to you, mission accomplished. $180 for this? Is it made of unicorn tears? But function-wise? Materials and hardware are just average. There's nothing innovative or standout about it—no special insulation, no clever features. At $180, you’d expect a lot more. Especially since, on the same day, I picked up an Osprey backpack for a similar price that’s loaded with smart, high-end design. The Stanley feels like you’re mostly paying for the logo and the "look." $180 for this? I hope I get dinner and tucked in to bed. Since I now have more cooler bags than I can justify, I decided to run a side-by-side test between four bags: It’s a battle for garage shelf space with my other cooler bags. One of them’s getting reassigned for shopping run duty or my daughter’s track meet snack carrier Test Setup: The test was done outdoors on a partly cloudy day. Outdoor temperatures started around 70°F, peaked at 90°F, and averaged about 80°F. Each bag was loaded with: One ice pack; Six cans of top shelf RC Cola; A cup of water starting at 43°F; and a Bluetooth thermometer I let the bags acclimate indoors for 15 minutes with the ice packs before placing them outside, in the shade under trees, from about 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (12 hours). Results (Starting Temp → Ending Bag Temp → Ending Cup of Water Temp): Stanley: 55°F → 70°F → 70°F Igloo: 56.7°F → 71.1°F → 70°F REI Trailgate: 48°F → 58°F → 57°F RTIC Ultra-Tough Soft Pack 20-can: 49°F → 59°F → 59°F Takeaways: The Stanley and the Igloo performed nearly identically—and noticeably worse than the REI and RTIC. Both the REI and RTIC bags kept the contents significantly cooler after 12 hours in warm weather. And just to put it in perspective: Out of all four bags, the Stanley was by far the most expensive—and it performed at the bottom of the pack, right alongside a forgotten Igloo bag from the garage.
